I agree with The Stig. You know Fox put some sophisticated shit in there (although Bruce did have to put in the autopilot himself). But they couldn't show it because then that would ruin the flow and surprise of the ending of the movie and the rest of the reveals. If we saw him ejecting it changes the story line.
I saw this on Sunday and enjoyed it a lot. I still liked 2 a bit better (The Joker was just so awesome), but this was very very good, and I don't necessarily consider myself a comic movie lover (I did really enjoy The Avengers as well though).
I am certainly able to willingly suspend my disbelief about a lot of things, and was fine with a lot of the crazy plot questions here (how he got back into Gotham, etc), but the one thing that bothered me was the lack of continuity when it came to day/night. Like they are in the stock exchange in, presumably, the middle of the day, yet the chase scene immediately after (during the "8 minute download") happens all at night. And then at the end when we learn there are 45 min before the bomb will go off it is night time, yet the whole end with the truck chase and carrying the bomb off to the ocean happen in the day time. Didn't in any way ruin the movie, but I thought it could've been done a bit more carefully.
