Official 2023-24 NBA Season Thread - Nikola Jokic wins 3rd MVP

Someone is gonna be so mad at NBA trivia when they get the: "This player Wade'd through the Celtics, the NBAs top team, bringing his team back from 22 down with 9 minutes to play, personally outscoring the entire Boston team in the 4th quarter on a perfect 7-7 from the field"

And it's fucking Dean Wade.

made it to the staples center last night

lakers fans: not that loud!

kings are pretty good on offense when they get going

Ben Simmons out the rest of the year. Amazing. Has anyone made more money not playing basketball than him?

This is insane. Ant hit his head on the rim for a game saving block. Hit his shoulder on the backboard too.

Ant - that is nuts.

I don't have Adam Silver's email (hah), but was thinking about the All-Star weekend.

Could they play a REAL game on Saturday?

Let's say Phoenix is the host city and the Suns could play a real game vs. say, the defending champs from the prior season.

That would mean:

Friday -
Rookies vs. Second Year
Skills challenge
3-point challenge

Saturday -
A real game that starts at say, 6:00 pm. If you have a ticket, or you are a NBA player, you get to stay for the dunk contest. I don't know what the transition would look like.
Then, the dunk contest, which is a main draw.

Sunday -
Actual All-Star game.

That's not going to help the actual competition in the All-Star game, but would make the weekend overall a little more legitimate???

And what about the players on Saturday, in the real/live game - they would get an extra day or two off.

What if there is an All-Star or 2-3 All-Stars in the Saturday live game - they could play 5-6 minutes or just get introduced as part of the Sunday exhibition game. They then get an extra day off, no matter what.

No bad ideas in a brainstorm.

Naz Reid with 34 and counting. Who knew that spending on two centers and a backup C was key to finishing 1st in the West?

The Magic only scored 74 against the hobbled Knicks.

Jarrett Allen is having a helluva season

And I like this broadcasting crew. It’s nice to mix it up every once in a while

D'Angelo Russell, Dejounte Murray, and Naz Reid all had career highs tonight.

Oops. Russell had his second most points.

The Lakers should be dangerous in the playoffs. Lebron, AD, Russell, and Reaves are quite good.

Even Daniel Gafford is approaching Wilt's status.

Follow it on NBA Crunchtime on the NBA App.

Hornets beat Grizzlies and jake Laravia was ....not good. shot 2-13 and had the worse plus/minus of anyone who played on either team.
