Wake Golf 2024 - Women finish 9th and Men 16th

Congrats to the Lady Deacs for bringing home the trophy!
 
FWIW the Wake women have won 6 ACC championships since the last time the men have won which was 1989 I think. Hard to believe we’ve won ACC championships in Baseball, Football, Basketball and tennis among others since the Men’s golf team last won a title.

We’re a golf school power w the women by far leading the way
 
Beginning Friday, the WF men try to break their 32 year ACC Championship drought at the Shark's Tooth Golf Club in Panama City, FL. The Deacs played the "Watersound Invitational" on that same course in February (Michael Brennen didn't play because he had qualified for the PGA Genesis Open): 12 ACC Teams played in that event, and WF finished 10th.

Since WF last ACC Men's Golf title, here are the other ACC teams to have won:

GT: 17 (tied for the title twice)
Clemson: 9
UNC: 3 (tied once)
Duke: 3
FSU: 1
VT: 1 (tied)

The drought by our men is unexplainable given some of the teams we’ve had. We seem to never be playing well coming into the ACC and that’s the case again this year.

Let’s hope both Michael and Alex can get hot. BTW the Wake women will be at SCC tomorrow afternoon for a fund raising reception…given the ACC title it should be a fun time.

Pretty amazing run by GT over several decades. I would think/hope that wake should be able to do something similar.
 
LOL, that'd be nice but going from 0 to 17 in the next 30 years is laughable. We aren't the powerhouse we think we are.
