Wake Golf 2024 - Women finish 9th and Men 16th

after 1 the front 9 has statistically some of the easier holes on the course. would be great to put a killer number up today.
 
Heck has been one of the best amateur golfers for the last couple years and is out here firing off an 82. That's not gonna happen again
 
Walsh came in with a 31 including four straight birdies. She's T2 overall and Wake is one shot clear of Oklahoma State for second, 9 shots clear of the match play cut, and 13 shots clear of the 54 hole cut.
 
Girls showed their stuff today. Stanford +7 early but battled back to even. 5 strokes between our 1 and 5 is great. State in DFL after almost winning the regional. Our girls are built for the big stage.
 
The ladies needed a good first round. Grayhawk has been a nightmare for them the past two years. Now they know they are capable of winning on this course. The first goal is to make the cut to 15 with a low enough score to ensure the cut to match play. They played the first round with players from Stanford and LSU, the first and third seeded teams. They have evidence they can play with anyone.
 
Not only did we have a great round yesterday but it was a round in the heat of the day. we tee off and will be off the course early today. We played with the top 15 teams yesterday in the afternoon and the scores are pretty evenly spread between morning and afternoon. I wonder if that corrects itself after today's round.

Stanford not repeating their off day from yesterday as -5 early and #2 golfer -3 after only 4 holes. Definitely out to prove their rank.
 
if we can keep under par today we should be in really good shape
 
So, Stanford appears to be playing much more Stanford-like today... -8 so far on the day
 
Rachel Heck dropped from lineup, and the order switched up too. Wake switched their order as well
