Wake Golf 2024 - Women’s ACC Tournament April 18-21; Men's ACCT April 19-22

Carolina Lopez-Chacarra is playing on another level. She has birdied her 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th holes of the 3rd and final round. Deacs still leading.

Lady Deacs win another tournament; this one by 9 shots. They have won both of their tourneys this Spring and CLC won another individual title. Ladies are dominating.

Looks like the ladies will finish 2nd in the Northrup Grumman Challenge against a stout field. #2 ranked Oregon has an 8 shot lead; WF has 3 shot lead over #6 UVA. Deac Rachel Kuehn has a 3 hot lead with 4 holes to play for the individual title: https://results.golfstat.com/public/leaderboards/gsnav.cfm?pg=team&tid=23392

Also, as mentioned in the WF PGA thread, current Deac golfer Alex Fitzpatrick will play in the PGA Valspar event starting Thursday. Alex is paired with Austin Smotherman (DeChambeau's teammate at SMU) and Brandon Wu. Webb Simpson and Bill Haas are playing at Valspar as well.

4 Lady Deacs are playing in the Augusta National Women's Amateur this week.

The practice round at Champions Reserve is today, and the first two rounds of competition are Wednesday and Thursday (both at Champions Reserve).

The field is cut to 30 after play on Thursday, but all participants get to play ANGC on Friday, in preparation for the final round on Saturday.

NBC Sports is producing the live broadcast on Saturday from noon until 3 p.m.

It's a fantastic event & tickets (via StubHub) aren't that outrageous this year. If you've never seen ANGC it's 100% worth the trip.

Jennifer Kupcho has a 6 shot lead heading into the final round of the Chevron Championship. It’s a womens major.

Rachel Kuehn had a top 5 finish at Augusta.

Yeah, was watching San Antonio and the formerly ANA instead of hoops last night. That was the best round I've seen Kupcho play. And she putted better than she usually does. And she was enjoying herself for a change. Really hope she finishes it off today and doesn't blow a gasket. She tends to run in the red worse than Rahm when things aren't going her way. But maybe she's found a new outlook and a better putting method. If she has, she's going to be winning regularly because she's long and solid tee to green. Also happy that Tavatanakit is paired with her again - they seemed to enjoy the pairing.

I really hate it for the LPGA tour that Chevron took over this tournament and is moving it to Houston. This is their Masters, it's been there forever, it's way more scenic than anything in Houston, and Dinah Shore meant so much to the women's game.

She’s dropped two shots in two holes including a 3 putt bogey. And there are 4 holes to play.

She’s got this. Great first professional win!

Really enjoyed watching her the last 2 nights and am happy for her. She had some slippage yesterday but played well enough to hang on. Her putting appears to be improved. She didn't hit as many putts yesterday as she did Saturday, but she looked like she was putting them on the line she chose. Conversely, Tavatanakit's putter was ice cold over the weekend, and nobody near the lead was able to get closer than -12. In addition to improved putting, she appears to have had a bit of an attitude adjustment. She still gets mad at bogies but doesn't appear to hold onto that anger as long and isn't as self-destructive. If she can continue on this path, she can rival Nellie Korda and Danielle Kang as the best American players in the game. I'm excited to see what the next year or 2 has in store for her.

I also want to give a shout out to Judy Rankin who is scaling back and retiring after this year. She's had a great run as a golfer and announcer and has been popular with the folks in the game. And while the LPGA isn't often as exciting as PGA events, I'd much rather listen to Foltz, Gannon and Rankin call an event than Azinger or Faldo, especially Azinger. Please NBC, replace Azinger with Foltz.
