Say we finish with the 12-15 wins next season. Does DM get another season or is he out?

He has about 8-9 games left in this season. If he does not right the ship then, then this should be the last year. I am sure Wellman has nowhere near the size balls it would take to make a change this quickly.

No way Wellman gets rid of Manning after only 2 years, even if should, he won't.

Before you fire someone who doesn't win in March like Dino you first have to play in March. Based on this DM gets another 3 years before we play in March and then another 2 years after that to win a game in March.

He will and should be given the full four years to build a program. First he has to get rid of the dead weight and attitudes left over from the Jeff Bz and Ron Wellman atrocity that was left for him. What is the difference in what he was left and what Dave Clawson was left? Both were clusters of immense cow dung.

DM was left with more talent and it takes far longer in football to rebuild a program. DM, at a minimum, needs a defensive coordinator.

Getting a basketball program back on track where you have so many fewer players and where freshman can make a huge difference is a much less monumental task than inheriting a football program that needs complete rebuilding.

Even though the football team has struggled Clawson's first 2 seasons, I've never got the impression that he's lost the team or is in over his head. Can't say that about Manning at this point.

Forget if you're a great game coach...one of the following...2 MCD AA's or back to back top 15 recruiting classes

Recruiting matters, but so does coaching. Just compare the performance of Va Tech in Buzz Williams' second year versus Wake's. And not because of any great infusion of talent.

Fewer kids also means a problem with one kid can cause more problems than on a football team. He's going to get 4 years to build a program. This thread is funny.

His top 2 scorers became eligible this year after transferring....Allen was a Md starter scoring 13.5 per game his soph year. That not a talent infusion?

You have a weird sense of humor.

Never said he wasn't and more players usually means more problems.

Wellman without question needs to step down. Leave it to the new AD to answer the question - can you be an effective coach with the personality of a doormat?

Poor Dan Collins. After several great years with Odom and Prosser, he has had to deal with Bzz and Manning the last 6 years.

Poor Stan and Dinger too. I turned on the radio for a few minutes yesterday and they sounded like they'd have rather been anywhere but watching our crappy team.

lol, what? Buzz is playing two redshirt Juniors that didn't play last year- Seth Allen and Zach LeDay. Those two guys currently lead VT in scoring. LeDay has been really good for them.
