Official ACC Basketball Thread: UVA beats Maryland in overtime!

38-42 with a minute left? Are you serious? When did college basketball players forget how to shoot a basketball?

Now that's a choke. Miami will be coming to the Joel ranked #2 in the country most likely.

Yeah, defender may still have been moving but if you barrel down the lane like a bullet train you're probably gonna get called for a charge.

Miami survives. Calling them going down vs UVa on Tuesday. If not I'm concerned about the [Redacted] extension possibilities next weekend

Agree if that game is at UVa.

Mark an L on our game with Miami. Book money on it. I don't care if it's in Bzz's living room on XBox.

UVA is too hobbled to win at Miami. Ain't happening.

Speaking of Larranega, Miami and UVA, UVA had quite the assistant coaching staff to Holland in the early 1980s. Craig Littlepage (now the UVA AD), Larranega and Dave Odom were on the staff 30 years ago, and Jeff Jones was a grad asst. And Geno Auriemma was an asst coach with the UVA women's team.

If you want to cross sports, Bruce Arena was there about that time too.

Big day in the ACC tonight. 3 of the 4 games project to be close. 5 of the ACC's 6 potential NCAAT teams are in action. Here's the schedule:

7:00 espn2 #110 Florida St @ #43 North Carolina St (-13) 84%
9:00 espnU #19 Virginia @ #10 Miami (-6) 76%
9:00 espn3 #39 North Carolina @ #77 Georgia Tech (+1) 53%
9:00 espn3 #57 Maryland @ #120 Boston College (+3) 59%

At various points during this FSU / NCSt game, the announcers have referred to both teams as "bubble" teams. I don't think that word means what they think it means.

They have hype teams up somehow.

They both could play their way in or out of the field.

Granted NC State would have to lose basically every game remaining and Florida State would have to win them all, so then probably about 80 teams would be on the "bubble"

They just said that #2 Miami was a "bubble contenting team".
