Fire Bz Ad in Gboro N&R, Day 4 = HEADSHOT

the youth thing is so absurd in today's NCAA. Did Kentucky not win the title with 3 Freshman and 2 Sophomores starting ? It's no longer acceptable to use Youth as an excuse. In 3 years we'll have a bunch of Seniors not able to compete with the incoming Freshman classes at elite programs. Wake's best teams in the past ten years all were led by early entrants to the NBA.

You win by having future NBA players on your team who are recruited and coached and developed by great coaches. We have none of that. Sorry if this is a distraction to the offseason work of our players or if it isn't seen as supportive... it's just the way it is.

The big donors are the GET OFF MY LAWN variety of old men. They still think basketball should be played like it was in the 60s and 70s.

I love the little victories; having the Winston Salem Journal rewrite Dan's headline for Twitter so that it includes the hashtag "#BuzzOut" is one of those.

Meanwhile, [Redacted], the third-year coach with a 34-60 record at Wake Forest, was left fielding questions Thursday night about the part of the fan base that’s growing increasingly vocal and irritated.

“I don’t worry about things I don’t have any control over,” he said. “I just do my job and what I know is this: We have built a really strong foundation without compromising any values or integrity at Wake Forest University. And there is a very bright future.”

Atleast we haven't compromised any values in our pursuit of 34-60. I guess winning is not a Wake Forest value.

What I don't think the outside media understands about these ads is that they are, at their core, about Wellman.

If our fan base had any faith that Wellman would do the right thing after this season, these ads would never have been done. We'd be like every other school where it's a foregone conclusion that Bzz is done and half the threads on this board would be about potential coaching hires instead of wondering if Bzz would actually be fired.

The fans are taking out the ads as a fight back against the arrogance of Wellman and the "Oh, Heavens Yes" philosophy. He hired a 60 year old coach with no history of success whatsoever to take over a program on the rise and lead it straight into it's worst 3 year stretch. Yet, through it all, he's maintained that he's the smartest man in the room and didn't make a mistake.

Our fans are easily some of the most polite and patient fans you'll see in big time college athletics. But, we no longer have any faith in our AD and we have no faith that he'll do the right thing. When that happens, the fans feel helpless and take matters into their own hands. Any negative backlash the university receives over this was brought upon themselves. From the terrible hiring of [Redacted], to the complete b.s. propaganda put forth by the AD over the last three years, and even now when most people seem to think that Bz will, inexplicably, come back for another year.

Simply put, it is abundantly clear that Wellman cares more about his own image than our University. Our fans do not. That is why we did what we did.

Patience, buddy.
