BBall Recruiting Megathread 3.0 - The Manning era begins: The Harry Giles Chronicles

Let's rehash the Teague / Ish PG debate again. Throw in Dino. That'll take us through the month.

Kind of funny that both are in the NBA playing point though.

If he's better than Ish or Teague he is a hell of a ballplayer.

I would definitely go back to the days where we were talking about who should be running the point between Teague/Ish. That was a fun time to be a Wake fan.

Isn't this a recruiting thread? Oh that's right, we kind of stink at that.

Understandably, it's a what-have-you-done-for-me-lately business, but just back in January so many people were singing the whole staff's (yes, [Redacted] too) praises after the commitment of Shelton Mitchell.

Let's see how the staff can finish out this class before jumping to conclusions. Mitchell was certainly a great start, and it sounds like the staff has done their due diligence on two 4-star bigs (Haas and Moore).

When you get one of the best passing point guards in the class, it should build momentum to get scorers and bigs. Thus far we failed to capitalize on that whatsoever.

This is the problem. A coach with ANY positive cache would have landed one of the Top 10-15 SGs because of getting Mitchell.

Mitchell was a top 25 recruit when he signed, he's not even top 50 anymore.

Harry Giles says that Wake has been checking in on him throughout his recovery. Hope he continues to make it out to games this year.

"Carrington has broken into the top 100 in Rivals.com’s national rankings for his class, he has landed offers from Iowa State, Dayton, St. John’s, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Providence, Iowa, West Virginia, South Carolina, DePaul and Hofstra."

For the record, we have offered (per Rivals and Scout), but guess we weren't even worth being listed.

Don't worry. He'll be hyped like a Top 25 recruit. CMM was #75 in the RSCI and Bz and Wellman hyped him up like he was a can't miss stud. Could be hurting our SG recruiting if CMM is written in for 30 minutes at the 2 in permanent ink.

The athletic department has been hyping CMM as a two and done player behind the scenes.
I remember after the UConn game, people on here were already thinking about our future after CMM left for the NBA after his sophomore year. Exactly why I think some need to slow down on the Shelton hype.

I don't really see how CMM has been hyped as a "two and done" but ok...

It is funny how people are so ready to believe that hype more than anything else that is more reasonable.

I just think people want to find reasons to be mad. There are plenty of reasons to be upset without making them up aren't there???

It is an old article, well before we offered.

Who are you, the NSA? It was an ACTUAL conversation that I had with a member of the athletic dept.

Bzzz spent a good part of his radio show during the 11-12 season talking about CMM.
