When this all "started" Wellman wanted Howland and Howland wanted to be here. If we had an "average" athletic director/department, it would be a done deal by now.

I'd be 100% on board for Howland if at the presser Wellman says

"Yeah, and about that culture stuff, yeah you got me. Just win, baby. Here's coach Howland"
 
Chances of a simultaneous fire/hire announcement? Or within 24 hours of each other?

Although it does make perfect sense. Howland can only teach mature kids, he doesn't babysit. So Buzz comes around to teach the kids not to drink and drive just to setup Howland to take em to the promised land. Maybe we can keep Bzz on as an assistant?

This would be the biggest hire Wake has ever made if it actually happens, which is why I am still not hopeful it will. Never have we had a coach with multiple final four and sweet 16 appearances. It seems too good to be true, but I'm glad people are starting to say he's a candidate. I'd be sick if people like Turner were the ones Wellman was reportedly targeting.
 
My sources tell me by the 28 page thread on the front page of our message boards that Wake Forest is targetting Ben Howland, but I have to ask the people posting in the thread if I can divulge more.
