2014 GRAND SLAM CONTEST - THE MASTERS - deacref wins!

As I said in pm to another player, Sleepy must have some personal grudge against this dude.

Yeah, clearly had to be an oversight. Reed went off around 60/1.

Have Reed (paired with Webb) in a Masters Calcutta, so I am REALLY pulling for those two.

I will be vindicated when Reed misses the cut!

Figured I wouldn't be the only one taking Reed and Jimenez at 150. I've got:

Phil
Speith
Donald
Day
Reed
Jimenez

Should be another great year at Augusta.

Scott
Phil
Speith
Stricker
Olesen
Kaymer

No idea. I've never even HEARD of Patrick Reed.

How is it you haven't heard of 1 of the top 5 players in the world? :D Actually, he's already won twice this season, hits it pretty far and can move it right to left. Also has a hawt but tiny wife, who is smaller than his golf bag, carrying his bag when she's not pregnant. If you google Patrick Reed, you'll prolly get more results about his wife than you will him. And even though he's a 1st timer, he played at Augusta St and has played Augusta National a few times. Not sure how he's a 150 when English is a 40 and Walker is a 50. If a 1st timer is going to do it, those 3 guys have a better shot than most.

Edited to add Dubuisson is also a young stud who I think is capable of a major. And Kevin Stadler has gotten off to a nice start. I'm gonna guess that Stadler has prolly seen and played Augusta more than any of the other 1st timers. And gotten a lot of good inside info.

Jimenez is playing great golf. He sold me during the Eurasia cup.

I had never heard of Dubuisson prior to the Match Play (think he was a #7 seed: around #30 in world at time). Now #21 in world. Been following Reed since he became a story Monday qualifying so much in 2012. Now #23 in world.

He really is just amazing. Dudes 50 and is still playing world class golf. And in general, is just a fantastic character.

Scott
Kuchar
Cabrera (oops I guess he is hurt)
Westwood
Jimenez
Reed

Like my team of
Rory
Scott
Phil
Jiminez
Couples
Henley

Henley is my big wild card, but he played well as a first timer last year and has played the course a bunch since he went to UGA

I've got Stadler, Haas, Henley, Scott, Speith and Kuchar. I always say I'm gonna take couples and jiminez at Augusta but never do. I would love to see one of them win.

Saw Jiminez jar his second on seven for eagle a few years back on Sunday. Incredibly loud roar. He may have been playing alone or with a marker - may have those years confused though.

Toughest decision for me in this was Kuchar vs. Day. Each at 15. Kuchar was safer given Day's thumb, so I went with him.

3 things guaranteed in life:

jimenez at the top of the leader board on opening day at Augusta

2014 GRAND SLAM CONTEST - THE MASTERS - Field of 82 set - Scoresheet in 1st post

So far my team of 2 Danes, 2 Deacs, and 2 ten point golfers looking pretty good.

Dubuisson won that tourney in Turkey and looked quite impressive in doing so and beat a good field. Seems like a cool guy too. Normally I'd root against him just because he's French - like I did van de Velde. But this guy is prolly the best up and coming Euro out there - I think he compares favorably to Reed or English - and doesn't surrender on Sunday afternoons.

My team is rolling right now.

Haas leads at -4
Walrus Jr. with a -2 (70)
Spieth is -2
Scott is -2
Henley is E
Kuchar is E

Top 4 are -10, top 6 are also -10.

Long, long way to go though.
