Two soccer questions

What if the "foulee" is hurt? Can someone else take the kicks for him in that case? If so, couldn't the player just fake an injury every time if he's not the best PK taker? This is soccer after all.

If he's hurt and doesn't take the kick, he should be out of the game.

My bad, I'm only allowed to have an opinion if suits certain others here.

Nobody said you can't have an opinion, you big baby. People have just said that your opinion is silly and you still haven't explained how allowing anybody to take the penalty kick is "unfair".

What's unfair is fouling a guy in the box. It deserves a swift penalty - like having the best shooter on the other team shoot in impeded from 12 yards out.

A penalty kick is unlike any other play. It almost always leads to a goal. I think the person involved in the play should be the one who participates.

I was watching the game with two other people who are casual viewers of soccer. Each of us was surprised that the person who was directly involved didn't take the penalty.

A corner is like an out of bounds play. Anyone can throw the ball into play. Anyone can kick it in.

The sport will survive without you. Feel free to quit watching.

So, you never took a dive as a punter to get the ball back? :couch:

Anybody surprised that rj is a proponent of implementing poorly considered changes based on a combination of ignorance and a skewed perception of "fairness"?

The world will survive without you.......feel free.....

The guy actually types out the terrible, awkward pauses in the comeback.

Rj the only unfair thing about the penalty kick is that it gave you this stupid idea and we are all unfairly suffering this totally unnecessary nonsense because of it.

Awww...throw punch after punch at me...then cry when I hit back....

I started this thread in a perfectly friendly manner. I had no intentions of any confrontation, but several couldn't help themselves.

There never needed to be a problem on this thread.

LOL at you responding to being bitch slapped for a dumb idea (thankfully, you're innocent here since you never, ever tell people they are dumb or have bad ideas...) by suggesting someone should kill themselves, and then somehow making yourself out to be the victim. Well done sir, well done.

I just thought about an idea that's used in every other sport that has such things. In hockey the guy who gets taken down takes the penalty shot. in basketball, the guy who gets fouled shoots the FT.

09, you and I can disagree without being disagreeable. Several here have no desire to be civil. Then they cry when they are treated the same way they treat others.

Actually no.

ETA

The only thing I was thinking about was hitting a good ball.

I enjoy watching soccer a ton. Except for the flopping. I think it's difficult on the referee/linesman to see exactly what happened sometimes from 20-30 yards away. I think instant replay for fouls in the box could be great for the game. Any floppers get automatic yellow. It's a big part of the game and it shouldn't be. Also, I feel like strikers should worry about finishing their run, finishing the shot, than trying to draw a penalty. It cheapens the sport to me.

RJ talking about soccer. Should have known this thread would turn out to be terrible.

He said you should stop watching soccer if you don't like the rules, and then you told him to kill himself. Civil.

And somehow you are NOT the aggressor in that scenario?
