Also Bud, a big part of your rant was about the Mets not handing the ball to Familia. They didn't do so because he was away for the birth of his son. Had absolutely nothing to do with him pitching the days before.
"ETA: And another thing. Evidently closers today cannot pitch one inning on three straight days now....or even to one batter to get the final out on that 3rd day. What a bunch of overpaid candy-asses play the game today. The Mets have one of the best closers in the game this year....a guy who already has 18 saves and a 1.21 ERA...but because he pitched one inning on Thursday & Friday, he can't pitch a 3rd inning today...or even, evidently, to one batter to get the final out after the Braves tattoed the two sloths that the Mets brought in for the 9th inning to score one run and place two more men on base. The Mets blew their 3-1 lead and they are still playing. So, for the money these guys are paid a guy cannot pitch 2 1/3 innings in three days now? At times like these, I am always reminded of this:"
