Retired US Soccer / World Cup Thread (RIP)

Don't put it past Jurgs to experiment with a peak condition Jozy Altodore at CB or maybe give the physically fit Alan Gordon 30 minutes back there to find the right chemistry.

Gotta be ready to play wherever the coach puts you, should he pull your name out of the hat. It's all part of being a professional.

@ESPNFCtri ESPN Tri retweeted PSV: Guardado to undergo another scan on his ankle. PSV statement says he could be out for a few weeks. Doubt for US game

That'd be the equivalent to us losing MB4

Doing us a favor my ass. Moar Jurgen

That's if you believe Sunil will step up to the plate and sack the man that deserves to be sacked no matter the result next month. I personally don't think he will.

Guy who's decent to solid, not really that great but some people fawn over and ignore every shortcoming is actually a very apt description of Guardado

Lining myself up for homer jokes here per usual but who exactly do y'all want if Jurgen is sacked? The guy has the highest win % of any manager we've ever had, has recruited more players (skewed stat of course, but still true) than any other manager we've had (albeit most suck), and for a bonus he's never lost to Mexico. I just don't see an advantage in sacking him before 2018 unless something drastic happens.

Did you watch the Gold Cup? We played like ass and our performances are only getting worse.

As for a replacement, someone with a modicum of tactical understanding who doesn't play everyone out of position and doesn't alienate our best players would be nice. That shouldn't be too hard to find

I'd be fine with either Bob Bradley or Bruce Arena and certainly would prefer either of them to JK.

So our replacement options so far: 1) a coach that everyone on here wanted fired and 2) a coach that everyone on here wanted fired.

We're off to a great start

What about van Marwijk? He would certainly leave Saudi Arabia to take up the post unless he is being paid eleventy billion a year.

Apparently U.S. is pulling out of hosting the Copa Centenario and may pull out of playing in it altogether

If this was the price for Blatter's demise, I'm ok with it
