2015 Maui Invitational: Hudson & Watson to Play in 3rd Place Game v. UCLA 7:30 ESPN2

Yeah I don't entirely get the IU is bad narrative. That may be the case but if they are then why get excited about the win? I hope IU is pretty good even if a little overrated.

I agree. They might be a little overrated at #13, but I think that come March they'll be a NCAAT team.

C'mon Indiana is a legit top 10-15 team who will compete with Maryland and Michigan State for the BIG10 title. They're the third best team in probably the second best conference in the Country. Let's not take anything away from this win by saying they're overrated just cause LOWF beat them.

Congratulations on the well deserved win. I thought Wake was both tougher and smarter, particularly down the stretch. In the last 5 minutes of the game, IU was dribbling around the perimeter and then taking bad 3s while Wake was attacking the paint and converting inside. I hope both teams have great seasons so that this game helps Wake and doesn't hurt IU.

Indiana is a good team and will get better as the season goes along. Crean will get them playing good defense and not that matador nonsense that we took advantage of last night.

people saying IU is not a good team, don't know basketball. Very tough team to guard and several future NBA picks. They will play Duke well next week

Stony Brook took Vandy to OT in Nashville. We can win this game tonight.

We can win, but it will not be easy. Devin will find the going a bit more tough on the interior against Thomas and Kornet. Vanderbilt has better depth and much, much better outside shooting. Really good test for Devin, Dinos, and JC on the inside. Vanderbilt has an excellent (and highly underrated) point guard in Wade Baldwin. Baldwin versus Bryant Crawford will be interesting. Riley Lachance looks like he's about 12 years old ... but you cannot leave him open. Mitchell will need to stay on him. Matthew Fisher-Davis can really shoot. But anything can happen on a neutral court in these pre-season tournaments.

I agree that IU is good and that it will get better but what really concerns IU fans is that the defense you saw yesterday was a season long problem a year ago. When you take into account the talent and experience on the roster, it's inexcusable and why so many are calling for Crean's head.

The more I think about it the more amazed I am that we actually pulled off that win.

We just beat a good, deep team that shares the basketball, without arguably our best and most experienced player, and giving 24 minutes to a walk-on talent.

Kind of interesting that IU is seen as having the "lost" the game as opposed to WF "winning" the game. Yes, IU made some bad plays and took some ill-advised shots; however, Wake made some excellent plays and worked hard on the boards. I prefer to think that Wake "won" the game due to gutsy effort and, yes, some good coaching moves.

The hope is that the good play will continue and improve, not that good teams will simply lay down.

Wake deserves full credit for winning that game. They made a bunch of plays in the last 4 minutes beating a more talented and I believe more experienced team. The fact that IU stopped attacking on offense and settled for bad 3s is undeniable but none of that matters if Wake isn't making plays to close the gap and ultimately take the lead.
