Wake v Rutgers- 7:00 Monday ESPN-U/ESPN3

When it mattered they made the plays to win the game. Lucky, but you need to win some games like this when you play terribly.

Four games away from WS in the row, and we won 3 of them. Could be worse.

Pathetic but a win.

The first half should have been go inside every play, instead we gun 3 after 3 with no legs. Then the defense just goes away. Then we d up and get back in the game.

This should have been a 20 point no stress pounding.

Dinos, Mclinton and Moore were horrible, just abysmal. DT out of control but at least with some intensity.

There is no such thing as a a pathetic road win. How many road wins have we had the last five years against big 5 conference schools?

Can't we all stop being miserable just for a moment?

You're the worst.

Thanks. I just don't recall anyone saying a win is a win after beating Indiana, and rightly so. If it makes you feel better about what just occurred to call a win a win though, go for it.

Who gives a crap how ugly it was, a win is a win. They don't ask you at the end of the year how did you win but how many did you win.

Definitely. Not a great performance by any means, but the team showed some serious resiliency coming back from 12 down on the road.

I'll take that win. That's a game we would have lost in the past. The progress might not be coming as quickly as we'd like, but at least it's evident. And the nice part is they didn't have the deer in the headlights look because they were beating a major conference team on the road.

This.

If you want to cleanse your eyes of that garbage, turn to Spurs-Bulls on NBATV.

No style points. But, we'll certainly take the "W".

We must fix whatever was wrong tonight or we'll get hammered in conference.

I think my strategy of being totally negative got us over the top. That said, Arkansas is going to pull our pants down Friday and have their way with us, Go Deacs!

DM of all people has to coach going inside more against a team with no shot blockers.

Way too much chucking 3's.

+1... This isn't football, where winning pretty matters. There's way too much parity in College hoops to claim a win as a "bad win". Go Deacs! Need to rest up, practice hard and get ready for some payback on Arkansas.

We didn't play well on the road after Thanksgiving and a trip to Maui with 3 games in a row, and with exams next week, and without arguably our best player. But we won. I'll take it. If we were going to have a off game, like every team does, this one was a good bet to lay an egg. Will take the W. 5-2 > 4-3.

Wake won only two games away from the Joel last year. Currently 4 - 1 on the road...without our starting senior point guard.

Anybody else feel that Manning coaches differently based on quality of opponent. Rutgers was terrible in the first half, and we should have been up by 20 with halfway decent play. In these situations, he seems to be kind of lackadaisical. Rutgers had empty possession after empty possession and meanwhile we were jacking up crappy shots and playing some pretty awful combinations of players. He just let them play on. The result is that you let a team hang around and hit a couple of shots, the momentum swings and we are down 12 to Rutgers. I just don't sense urgency in these games vs crappy teams.

I mean tomorrow is the hardest day of the week academically. They came out flat thinking about how much effort will be needed for Tuesday. Understandable, but they still got the W!
