So you are saying that Dave Clawson has proven with his 1 conference win in each of the past two seasons that his methods? A resounding 3-0 win over Boston College this year and a thrilling offensive spectacular with a regulation ending score of 0-0 and a final score of 6-3 in double overtime? Where Dave Clawson has proven his so called legitimacy is at 1AA Richmond and MAC school Bowling Green while Danny Manning was playing professional basketball during those kinds of times, then learning his craft with 8 seasons under Bill Self at Kansas and finally for 2 seasons on his own at Tulsa where he won the Conference USA regular season & tournament crown in his 2nd season. He went 38-29 overall at Tulsa. At Wake Forest he was left with nothing after the Wellman/[Redacted] reign of terror. He has to be given a full 5 years to make heads or tails out of the mess he was left with.

You gotta give the guy at least 10-12 years to be sure. Maybe even 15. If we don't make the NIT by year 15, I think we should really consider not asking him back.
 
Sorry but you get 3 years in today's basketball world. Show me one coach who will have a record like DM after next year who actually turns things around and becomes a top 25 program. Don't start with the Dean and K first few years...that was then and things are different now. These guys make way too much money and with today's NCAA tourney its get me to the dance or go find another job.

Finish .500 in the ACC next year or he and Wellman both need to move on. There is no way VT should be able to have the results they have in Buzz year 2 and not Wake. Danny and his assistants have absolutely no emotion during a game. Our play reflects our coaches.

Maybe one day Wake fans will stop justifying this shit show of a BB program and demand better.
 
And of course we will do the improbable and win at dook for the first time since Duncan was in Winston. Getting the signature and breaking the ACC road losing streak. Then we'll lose to State by 30 in the first round of the ACCT.

This team isn't going to win at Duke. I actually think they have the talent & ability to play with and possibly beat State in the ACCT.....but probably not the heart to do so. I get the feeling that they've pretty much mailed the season in at this point.

If we win at dook then I would consider this a successful season.
 
Rough game. Game notes: pretty bad shooting and Not very good coaching. The light at the end of the tunnel may be seen with our senior departures.
 
I thought it was funny when the announcers specifically commented that Va Tech's Coach was likely to take his jacket off and be animated during the game and that Manning just sits there calmly without a care in the world.

mailed in is about right, also we can't play defense or shoot from the outside
 
By my count 9 turnovers{most of them unforced}and pathetic foul shooting in roughly the second half of the 2nd half made the outcome inevitable.

Blame who you will. There is more than enough to go around.
 
It also doesn't help that just about every PG in the league can easily take Wilbekin off the dribble whenever they feel like it. So if we ever get in a close game he CANNOT be on the floor. He was last night and was exposed once again.

At this juncture I think the light at the end of the tunnel may be best seen with the departure of the current coaching staff. We need a coaching staff that can teach kids to value possessions, play better defense, and make free throws. Every game with these clowns has been like Ground Hog Day. I don't see things getting better moving forward.
 
Ouch, that one stings. I'm sure Well Man is still happy about our future.. Disco must be nearing retirement. He throws more daggers these days than in years past. Good stuff Dan!
 
Not saying I think we will. Saying it happens we get excited then return to the norm in the acct. you know Allen trips de in early gets tossed we have our one game of the year with low to high t.ft% and hit out of out butt 3's.
 
Wake Forest is definitely so far buried that we can't even see the mountain. That's for sure.
