2016 Panthers Thread: MOVING ON

If we can trade up high enough to take Ogbah in the second, I'd be thrilled. Then throw DBs and WRs at the wall to see what sticks to round out the draft.

That would certainly fit Gettleman's prior style of moving up in the later rounds. I wouldn't put something like this past him at all.

I absolutely love this pick (and this from someone who hated the Shaq pick last year) and think this kid is a BEAST in the making

Per 'insider' David Newton:

Seven teams called the Panthers looking to move into the first round for the 30th pick. General manager Dave Gettleman was set on Louisiana DT Vernon Butler by then. "People mistake kindness for weakness," Gettleman said. "The deals weren't very attractive, frankly. When we got on the clock all of a sudden they started to up the ante, but we made up our mind."

Just wondering if it were Cleveland or Nashville. If so we likely could have still gotten him and added a pick or two. Seven teams, surely they would have started to up the ante. Either way, should be a great player.

GMan must have a plan to get his guy in the 2nd without extra picks.

Cromartie has to be a possibility for a vet signing.

GMan's plan to address the CB situation starts with upgrading the pass rusher.

What about mackensie alexander? Any thoughts on if he could fall to us?

I'd rather not waste a pick of a RB. Next year's draft is loaded w/ RBs.

I hoping for one of Ogbah, Dodd, Fuller, or Derrick Henry. With our needs I would like to see us get Fuller the most.

I like them in that order too. I feel like Henry+CAP could be a good 1-2 for a few years.

Given what PFF has to say about Alexander i'd love to have him fall to Carolina. Think he would be a steal. Blames most of his short comings on the scheme he was in.

I think Gettles loves having that extra year of control with first round picks. That does make a difference

He needs to upgrade the CB position as he just let one of the best cover corners in the league get away to the Redskins! There aren't many like Norman and he let him go in a pissing contest of dabbing proportions.
