NFL Offseason Thread: NFL Draft - Rams pick Goff #1

I actually never really liked Shaun Alexander, might be because I always through he was one of the Barber twins. Also my Alabama fandom doesn't run extremely long, only more recently from my significant other who went to Alabama and whole family went there etc... Also living in Atlanta I probably make half the Alabama home games a year. If anyone has married into a winning tradition its quite refreshing compared to Wake, weird feeling with expectations to always win instead of expectations to always lose.

Huh? Aren't you from Boston?

Yeah, pro sports its all Boston all the time. College its also Wake all the time too with Alabama adoption through relationship, basically wouldn't be accepted if not. Her one Aunt is one of those people that has a game day condo that's only used like 6 times a year but costs an obscene amount of money. One of those boosters that just has tickets to every damn sporting event Alabama puts on for the sole purpose of getting the best possible football seats.

Dr. James Andrews weighed in on Myles Jack and says he won't need microfracture surgery.

The Browns may have gotten very lucky, for once. Maybe now they can make up for drafting Corey Coleman at 15.

The whole microfracture surgery is hit or miss just by the nature of what it is. Im curious that no growth factor has been identified that can skew the stem cells towards cartilage formation over just leaving it to chance. If the population of stem cells isn't great enough or the factors that promoter cartilage differentiation are lacking you are now left with a knee that has significantly less cartilage than before the surgery took place.

I always thought Seattle fans were luke warm on Alexander. There was much more appreciation for the backs before (Ricky Watters) and after him (Lynch). He obviously had a great run in Seattle, but he also ran behind Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson. I felt he was soft and at times fake.

Hadn't really thought of that. He had a very long tenure in Seattle yet seems to be largely forgotten by all but folks who remember him for his time at Bama. I was just talking about him at lunch with a Michigan fan who remembered him from a bowl game.

Funny considering he had a five-year stretch where rushed for 7500 yards, 87 touchdowns and won an MVP.

I met Shaun Alexander at the National Prayer Breakfast back in 2008. I enjoyed talking to him about growing up in Florence Kentucky because I also lived there as a kid- he didn't seem fake to me.

Good to know. It was just my perception.
