Official '15-16 NBA Season Thread: THEY WON ONE FOR THE LAND

In all seriousness, I think this all just proves that Scott Brooks is very stupid

Not at all. Adams improved greatly from playing more and Kanter didn't become a member of the Thunder until late in the year. They are both young and improving. If anything, Scotty got screwed.

BTW, how many games did the Thunder lose with a lead starting the fourth quarter? Well coached teams don't blow over a dozen such games when they are more talented than nearly every one of their opponents.

Rodman is an all time rebounder and could basically guard all five positions. Let's not get crazy. Noah without the passing feels more reasonable.
He's definitely been better/more valuable than Noah in the playoffs

Noah is not a good comp. Noah is a lot more active and athletic, not as strong. They also play pretty very different games on O, with Noah doing his best work from the elbow and Adams with a more promising post game.

That's fair. Who's your comp/ceiling?

Was looking for somebody more recent. Adams has a similar game to a lot of 80s and 90s players.

No recent comp comes to mind. Some old school skills in a new NBA. Charles Oakley meets Rik Smits in 2016.

Exactly. That's what makes him so fun/frustrating to watch. It would be interesting to see him vs. the Cavs. Lebron hasn't had to go through nearly the punishment Jordan had to go through from the Pistons and Knicks.

I didn't watch the game last night but at one point I read this thread and saw so many "Durant is playing like crap in every facet of the game" posts that I didn't bother to turn the channel to the game. Imagine my surprise when I turned on ESPN before bed and saw that the THunder had actually won. Next time I'll try not to let the #hottakes influence me.

Adams is definitely chippy and a little dirty, but he also takes a lot of shit and doesn't complain. I dig it.

He and Bestbrook played like crap in the first half - that wasn't a #hottake.

My man Skip Bayless preaches truth! Dubs in 5!

(Scott Brooks > Brews. Jesus, man. Jesus.)

Also, every donk Lakers fan I have the misfortune of encountering LOVES LOVES LOVES Westbrook. What is it? Is it the UCLA thing? The familiar 10-30 box scores? The swallowing of whistles in the last minute when he does something deeply stupid that brings back fond memories of Nick Van Exel? I am bemused.

fashion sense?

Speaking of 80s/90s physical big men, Fat Joe revealed that Biggie's "I Got a Story to Tell" was about Anthony Mason (RIP). In short, Biggie raps about banging the girlfriend of a Knicks player during a Knicks home game against the Jazz.

Can we get an intrathread poll here? Who likes Westbrook? Yay or nay

Yay

bmoney, dlo you have your Prozac handy for when the Lakers get and lose the #4 pick in the draft tonight?

I would not hate seeing the T'wolves jump to the #1 pick and get Simmons.
