Another Real Madrid player using hapless Woodward for a pay increase?

Guillem Balague: "All I do know is that Manchester United would like James Rodriguez. The player wants to go."

GestiFute/Mendes client. That could have legs if Mourinho is hired.

I didn't know Ed Helms was a Bayern fan.

Arsenal haggling over Xhaka price with 'Gladbach after negotiations between 3rd parties according to Honigstein. Just do it dudes, he is perfect for you. After last night I'd rather him than Dahoud for leadership and grit and balls and mentality, but that changes frequently. Anyway, big Xhaka fan here, even though he is kind of slow.

Yeah, he's slow, and yeah, he's a bit crazy in the head. But the dude can play and his passing range and vision are off the charts.

Latest on Götze. Melissa Reddy, despite writing for Goal (though I think they've perhaps made strides overall, don't know), seems to be tapped into the local goings on; or at least she often gets fed the same info that Pearce, Barrett, Joyce, et al. do. Sometimes she pops up with a little more. Not super optimistic after this:

Vad, and Tottenham fans, but think Vad also sort of follows Palermo (did I make that up?) -- saw Franco Vazquez linked today; would you rather have him or Adam Lallana? I think there will be a couple of surprise departures from Liverpool this summer, and despite the public utterings to the contrary, think there could be something in the Lallana to Spurs rumors. What about Henderson? I wonder if West Ham might throw some cash at Henderson, too. I like Lallana a lot, and I think Klopp does, too (but Pochettino LOVES him), but I just wouldn't be shocked if one or both of Lallana and Henderson left. I'm not a huge Henderson fan and kind of think Ferguson might have been on to something with his stride and body breaking down.

Vadtoy's family us from the Palermo region, so I watch them from time to time. Wouldn't say I "follow" them though.

Vazquez is a lot more creative player than Lallana, imo. Lallana is a tireless runner and worker though. Not a huge fan of either player, frankly.

Xhaka profile for Arsenal fans if you don't know too much about him. I thought he was the best player on that Swiss U-21 team that lost a final to Spain (even better than Shaqiri, who I don't really like a lot) a few years back. Capped by the full national team as a teenager. I also like Yann Sommer, the 'keeper for that Swiss team and Gladbach, but now that is a dude who would probably be too short for the Premier League. Funnily enough, I watched some of Gladbach's game against Darmstadt this past weekend and their reserve keeper was in -- he's even shorter than Sommer. They have to collectively have the shortest keepers in Europe. Dahoud didn't play either, but Xhaka was on point.

Melissa Reddy is a guest on the Anfield Wrap every now and then, she is definitely has a few sources within the club.

She is also reporting, along with a couple of others, that both the Loris Karius and Ben Chilwell deals will be wrapped shortly.

I'm excited for anything that means less or none of Mignolet and Moreno, as well as Skrtel and Lucas, so the business so far, though not terribly exciting, should knock all those back a peg, if not out of the club.

Chilwell may be a teenager with little first team experience, but I hope the push to sign him indicates they are ready for him to come in and challenge to start. Moreno might not be as dumb as Enrique (and is a better player) but he is close. He had been having a good month or so, but that final was too much. The mentality and the brain aren't there. Decent athlete, quick as shit, probably a good teammate/guy to have around, but clueless. Mignolet just has no balls.

Shay Given made a nice career as GK in the Prem being under 6 feet. Sommer would do fine in the PL in my opinion.

Xhaka is going to be fun to watch. Creative and crazy. Love it.

Lallana and Henderson are both shit.

Tend to agree about Henderson. I think Klopp has even said Henderson is a player that needs to be 100% to be effective and if they're worried the breakdowns are going to continue or become more frequent, I can see them cutting their losses. I also don't think he works really well in a midfield "2," or at least hasn't really with Can. Great to have in a 3 though, because of the motor and when he's on he can be like an extra half player. I don't think he's a good leader though, more of a teacher's pet/good example, and he hasn't developed the impact in the final third that would take him up a level.

I'm a big Lallana fan, I like his style and he's one of the few Liverpool players along with Joe Allen who seem to be able to maintain possession in advanced areas and play around pressure and in tight spaces (not to mention the off the ball work and pressure), but again, in the position he's been playing in Liverpool, he has needed to have more impact with goals/assists/creation. Although, unlike Coutinho/Firmino, when he has a bad game at least he is still buzzing around -- those two just tend to disappear.

But I could definitely see Lallana working well with Kane/Eriksen/Alli. If you think you already have three guys who will get double figures, Lallana could slot in really well.

The thing for Spurs is that Lamela does all the things Lallana does, just better. I just don't see what adding a lesser duplicate would do.

Why on earth would we want Henderson? Our central midfield is already loaded with better players and we've just signed Havard Nordtveit on a five-year contract from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
