Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon - (and beyond) Discussion (spoilers allowed)

Someone remind me, is that whitewalker origin story true to the books? Do we not know?

This season is delivering. Some of the Dany stuff was hoky (get better & come back to me), but that's the nature of that storyline.

I lost my shit at the end of that episode. That blew my mind. Best GoT of the series, for me. Such an affecting closing scene--I haven't felt like an ending to an ep was done that well since The Constant in S4 of Lost, or maybe the "Not Penny's Boat" episode in that show.

It was really fantastic cinema.

Holy shit. The director of tonight's episode was Jack Bender; this was his first GoT episode. He was also the director of The Constant in S4 of Lost.

Bender is a hell of a director. Some of those shots were ridiculously well filmed. You could definitely see his style patterns emerge watching the end of Ep 5 and the video linked here.

Sapochnik is also great. Glad Sapochnik is closing out the season this year. He'll need to bring his A-game if he wants to exceed the episodes thus far.

I feel really stupid, but that episode was confusing. I need to either rewatch or read more about it.

Haven't watched Lost, but those nerds in that after show mentioned that the director of a bunch of Lost episodes directed this episode. So that would make sense that you feel that way.
