DNC 2016 thread

She could get the Democratic coalition together for one election, but it would be tough to expect it again if she lied to the most energized section of said coalition.

K that's what I thought you meant.

PS - Can you and rj stop agreeing on things, it's scaring me.

Solid speech; as noted before I have the luxury in NJ not having to vote Dem which I haven't done since '72.
I would NEVER vote for Trump, never, under any curcumstance. But if needed I would hold my nose and vote for HRC.
Whatever you believe or think about her, HRC is infinitely more qualified and experienced than the Dumpster.

Long way to go but I'm still saying the election will be a run away. EV - 320 EV + Pop- 55% - 43%

I was actually thinking something similar during this speech. I cannot vote for either Trump or Hillary in good conscience but I'd probably hold my nose and vote for her if I lived in a swing state. Instead I'm going to vote 3rd party in protest of the bullshit corrupt two party system that gave us this awful choice between two terrible candidates. Guess I'm glad I live in Delaware.

Look, the truth is he doesn't matter. People much smarter than me have put together some impressive models, and they say Hillary wins this by three or four points - unless she Gore's it. Betting markets have this thing 2 to 1 for her, and such markets are fairly good indicators.

This hinges on black turnout and her or Trump not completely fucking imploding. I hope at least one if not both do.

Johnson/Weld - I'll be one of the few with a clear fucking conscience on November 9th. If you don't live in a real swing state, do the same. And if you do live in a swing state, you should probably still vote your conscience, but I understand - but don't condone - voting a lesser of two evils.

The two worst major speakers at the DNC were the two on the ticket.

Presidents Clinton and Obama did a very good job at turd polishing, but anyone politically astute know who Hillary is and knows her strengths and weaknesses.

There were multiple times during the convention that I thought I was watching a RNC. The appeals to American exceptionalism, etc.

C grade for her.

Very strange election. It's about to get weirder. Game on.

I think Hillary did great for her normal level. She's just not a natural public speaker but you can tell she prepared for this speech extensively.

Awful speech unless you're someone who already worships her.

Disagree. It was good enough to get some people who would otherwise stay away to hold their noses, and that's probably good enough. But yeah, nothing special.

She certainly is always rehearsed.

I hear you and yes, we are both lucky. Poor SOB's in swing states have to wipe the crap off their arms and pull Hillary lever; then go home and shower. No other choice makes sense.

In all seriousness Bill looks like he has early onset dementia. Looks exactly like my grandfather with facial mannerisms.

LOL. Bill just gave a great speech two nights ago.

She is making her case as to why she should be the leader of the free world. And what does being humble have to do with demagoguery?

Yep.

Has either side talked about domestic NSA spying this election cycle? Or is that just something that is inevitably sticking around.

Good point.

Strong speech. As good as could have been expected. Hit Trump hard but didn't dwell on him. Good balance.
