We will see if Mike Singer from Wake Rivals is willing to weigh in on this board, but I believe that he was given a heads up that this would happen. It was either just before or just after Allen committed. The national Rivals guys also gave him an explanation why.

Yeah, he posted the explanation for the drop on the Rivals board.

We know why. He committed to Wake Forest. Wake Forest does not sell subscriptions or magazines.
 
He hasn't shrunk. He hasn't flunked out of school. He hasn't blimped out (300 bad lbs). We'll still welcome him with open arms. It's just somebody's opinion. If Claw wants him, then so do I. The ratings will not make him nor break him.
 
Mike Singer from Rivals sent me this message and gave me the OK to post it here:

"The Rivals analysts decided that Allen would be dropped out of the Rivals250 a month and a half ago when Wake Forest wasn't thought of a serious contender. His commitment to Wake had nothing to do with his drop."

Please don't throw the baby out with the bath water. I most assuredly don't consider the Scout site a "trash" site in the least bit. Understand the venting over the perceived slight in recruiting rankings, but in the grand scheme of things, it's pretty meaningless. He's the same player to Wake today that he was a few weeks ago. He was highly sought after, and Clawson got him to come to Wake. Don't let anyone steal that joy. It's a huge get.
 
I'm certainly not going to complain about Clawson getting a Top 300 player or whatever.
