2016 Panthers Thread: MOVING ON

Kelvin played 61 snaps and was targeted once. I don't care who is playing CB, give him the ball. I think something is going on behind the scenes.

Has always seemed like their best bros in the past so I kinda doubt there's anything between them.

I did have some concern in the back of my mind that Cam was so effective minus KB, and then he comes back and Cam feels like he has to force the ball to him (not that that was the prob yesterday, obvs)

Funyons was targeted and hit in the chest and couldn't catch shit

His effort on that corner route was pretty bad too.

Kelvin also seemed to be arguing with the staff every other time he came off starting early in the game. He was def on another planet yesterday

The Vikings bring the WTF out of this team.

Again, I think the elite defenses we faced had a little to do with this.

Nothing new here, but we need some OT depth. Remmers and Oher play basically every snap and they get worn down facing these elite pass rushers. Against MIN and DEN they did fairly well early in the game, but the later stages have been a DISASTER!

We also probably win that game yesterday if not for KB's block in the back. I don't think the Vikes come back from 15 down, and I think Fozz could've made that guy miss even without it

I'd agree, except the issue has been a defense that has looked anything but top 10. In both the Denver and Minnesota games, Bradford and Siemian moved the ball at will in the 2nd half. They Made a top 5 defense look like it was playing Brady or Manning. Let me repeat. Trevor Siemian and Sam Bradford.... Add in Jacksonville reject Blaine Gabbert who tossed up 27pts in our lone win and I shudder to think what Brees, Ryan, Wilson, etc. Will do to this team.

We were in total control yesterday, only to have the defense come out after halftime and lay an egg on two straight drives letting the vikings go down the field as if they had the #1 offense a year ago. After that any hope of momentum was long gone.

So far the offense has actually been MORE productive than a year ago.
After 3 games last year, We scored 71 while allowing 48 pts (+23). This year we've scored 76 while allowing 70 pts (+6).

We're currently 10th in scoring (offense) and 20th on defense (pts allowed)

We can toss blame on the o-line or Cam, but that's falling back on past issues and ignoring the real problem.

Defense only gave up 14 yesterday. One of Denver's TDs was a 10 play, 23 yard drive. One of San Fran's TDs was a 1 yard drive. Plus we lost to good teams: Denver won at Cincy behind 4 TDs from Siemian and Minnesota beat GB a week after Bradford signed. We have given up the 3rd fewest yards in the league. We clearly have problems, but I don't think it's doom and gloom time on defense yet.

It did seem like a weird game. Felt like we were on the way to rolling, and then the odd play call of a slow developing long pass from our own end zone results in a safety - you can blame both the playcall and Cam. Special teams didn't really show up with Gano missing the long FG, the punt kick coverage giving up the TD, and Ginn misplaying a couple punts that pinned us deep. They really only had the one TD drive and then just dominated our OL the rest of the game. Cam has proven that he can be rattled if he gets hit repeatedly.

Both of these posts are correct. Football is weird that way. We laid an egg, fuck it. There was clearly an awful vibe all week and in this game.

The two best teams in the NFC are QB'd by Sam Bradford and Carson Wentz. We'll be aight. Just get to the playoffs healthy.

ETA if we lose to the Falcons, my tone might shift significantly.

I would like to see our defense make more plays. They're doing an adequate job of defending generally but we need to force more negative plays for opposing offenses.

Still feel like the KB block in the back play isn't being talked about enough. Was after the safety and would've given us a 17-2 lead

This is important. Momentum would have been on our side and I like our D's chances better with Bradford being forced to throw more.

No doubt we win if that play stands.

The Vikings aren't that good

I am concerned that the D has gotten shredded by bad offenses and the team seems like be lacking some heart

I think the Denver game will haunt us

One plus of yesterday is as good as Minny's D is, I'd still rather go there for a playoff game than Green Bay
