General Election Thread: Two Weeks Out

BBC article. I suspect most millennials in the US are having a similar rough go of it.
Wealth of people in their 30s has 'halved in a decade'
Those born in the early 1980s have an average wealth of £27,000 each, against the £53,000 those born in the 1970s had by the same age, said the IFS.

They will also find it harder to amass wealth in the future, it added.

The think tank found that people born in the early 1980s were the first post-war group not to have higher incomes in early adulthood than those born in the preceding decade.

"This is partly the result of the overall stagnation of working-age incomes," it said. "But it also reflects the fact that the great recession hit the pay and employment of young adults the hardest."

Trump appears to be having a meltdown. His campaign should really consider pulling him from the campaign for a few days to get clean.

You can just bet that the imaginary manufacturing industry that Trump brings back by slashing corporate taxes and regulation will pay employees very well. Make America Great Again = Make American Rivers Flammable Again = Make American Cost of Living 60's Levels Again

Be honest, do you think you're doing well compared to Wake grads from a decade or two before you? You love Obama, right? Why? Is it because you think his support for the TPP is going to be a good thing for American workers? I'm curious, what three things has Obama done that you feel have significantly improved your life.

Why would corporations pay employees better if their taxes were cut versus keeping the money and increasing stock prices?

Without more sales, there's no reason to hire more people.

Amazing. This is what greeted Hillary as she got off her bus to walk into yet another of her poorly attended rallies (this time in Fort Worth, FL). :bowrofl:

Well, for me I've been steadily employed throughout his administration. Lost my job in October 08 due to the downturn in the economy. Didn't find work until June of 09 (I moved to DC a week after his inauguration). Have been employed every day since then, including at two nonprofits, now at a manufacturer. The second nonprofit was close to closing its doors when I joined in October 2010, which is sad since it was founded in 1877, but is now thriving because more donations are able to come through the door.

This whole idea of jailing your opponents is right out the Lennin/Mao/Robespierre/Cromwell/etc. play book. It is very disturbing.

what's amazing about a group of uninformed idiots chanting? I'm not following the "amazing" part.

I find elites like her being above the law and going unpunished for their crimes far more disturbing. YMMV

Us millennial Hillshills can't attend rallies during the day since we're at work. The olds who leach off the government that support Trump have plenty of time to go, though.

I don't know why the look at these rallies thing is always posted for Trump and by Trump. He is a celebrity, people go and see him. For example the average viewership for the apprentice over its run was 15 million people. Since he became the republican nominee it's been 76 days, if have that same viewership to see trump at a rally he needs to have rallies with 197,368 people a day.
