2016 College football thread

That is one way to look at it! I am much more of a sports hater than a fan. I derive an obscene amount of pleasure from teams I hate losing but when they end up winning and I've spent the whole game cheering for every miscue, it doesn't feel good at the end. Boise State's loss to Nevada and Notre Dame's beatdown by Bama are two of my most memorable sports hater moments, though.

How the hell did Ron Cherry get picked to officiate the Notre Dame/USC game? I was switching through the channels and heard his voice. He's sure to fuck it up.

is anyone surprised the alabama super fan was dressed in the manu jersey?

Ohio State didn't get to the 15. Will both get in, or does Michigan drop to 5 and Washington gets in. BTW, if PSU wins, neither Ohio St nor Michigan even won their division.

Is this serious? Michigan is a 2-loss team who won't even play for their conference championship. They're out of the playoff now.

Alabama, Clemson, and Washington control their own destiny. Nightmare scenario for the committee is having to pick between 1-loss OSU and 2-loss, Big 10 champ PSU who also beat OSU.

But FEELINGS.

Buckeyes will be in if Penn State wins this game. They are not dropping from #2 to #5 without playing a game, given that they have three top 10 wins. If they have to go to the B1G title game, they obviously have to win that

How about Navy laying 75 points on SMU?
And the Pitt-Syracuse shootout. 76-61

Wish we could have borrowed a few of those points today.

No way the Pitt-Cuse hoops game has that many points.

You are correct.
I think I read that Pitt had beaten Syracuse the last few games in hoops......and scored fewer points in each game.

We'll see. The committee is very focused on conference champions, and I think OSU may need a loss by Clemson or Washington. Especially if PSU beats Wisconsin since PSU would have both conference championship and head to head over OSU. If Wisconsin wins and it's the conference champion vs the head to head winner, OSU may get in.

If PSU wins the BIG, they should choose the team that didn't enable a serial child rapist for years. I would use that metric.

Yes they're very focused on conference champs, but Ohio State has a better resume than PSU and Wisconsin (it also has a road head-to-head win over Wisconsin) and will have a better record than either of them. I'm pretty confident that the Buckeyes will be in and that they will be no lower than the #3 seed.
