It is relevant to how good Ohio State was that season given someone else saying they weren't all that.
Think you missed the sarcasm and point of 07s post.

Last night probably cost Colorado the rose bowl since they were at 8 and USC at 11. Don't really like seeing the CCG end up hurting a team. Except florida. Have no problem with a big loss to Bama costing them the Sugar Bowl.
IMO Washington has a way better chance against Alabama than Wisconsin or Penn St.
Still not much of one, but significantly better
None of the other teams have a chance on paper to beat Bama. Let's just have a tournament for second place.
As a Bama fan (went to Grad School there), I fear Washington the most. I've watched them 5-6 times this season, and IMO they are the most physical team in the country behind Bama. They have a dominant Front 7 on D, and a solid O-Line that can control the game with their rushing attack. I haven't seen Stanford get beat up physically that bad on both sides of the ball in years.
The question is whether they can run the ball against Bama just enough to setup the pass and play-action. However, their biggest "weapon" is their HC, Chris Peterson. IMO, besides Saban and Urban, I don't think there is a better HC in the country, and is one of the best coaches building a gameplan when given enough time. Also, he is one of the best HC's when it comes to both in-game play calling and making in game adjustments.
so if tigers lose are they out?
Is this Sabans best Bama team?
Washington played 7 games against teams with a losing record. They have the 138th ranked schedule in the country. I'm not sure what you can expect from Washington.
Is this Sabans best Bama team?
Anyone can "nitpick" just about anyone's schedule besides Bama (Played 8 games against teams that were ranked when the game was played, and WKU who just won CUSA). OSU played 6 teams with a record of .500 or below. Clemson has played 6 teams with a record of .500 or below, and only 2 of those teams that were ranked when the game was played.
Also, I really really hate using stats for debates in football because one can manipulate them to form the argument they want. IMO, the "Eye Test" shows more than stats. Are stats useful in football? At times they can be, but they don't fully explain what happened in the game like they do in Baseball. For example, if one only looked at only the stats of the Penn St win over OSU, one would have thought OSU won the game.
Total Yards: 413 vs 276
Time of Possession: 38min vs 22min
3rd Downs 9/22 vs 2/13
TOs: 0 vs 1
However, Penn St made 2 huge plays on special teams, and won the game. If anyone believes Penn St didn't deserve to win that game, then I guess you forgot that special teams makes up 1/3 of the game.
As for Washington, in their "Big Game's" against other ranked teams this season:
#7 Stanford 44-6
at #17 Utah 31-24
#20 USC 13-20 LOSS
at #23 WSU 44-17
#8 Colorado 41-10
Washington is 4-1 against ranked teams, and 3 of those wins were complete domination. Also, winning in Utah is no small feat, and is one of the most underrated venues in CFB. Maybe I should word it this way, I am more afraid of Chris Peterson than any other team/coach in the country. Washington might not seem "scary" to many people, but if your not afraid of Chris Peterson, then you are a fool. As I stated before, I believe he is one of the best coaches coming up with a gameplan, calling a game, and making in game adjustments. A lot of coaches are great at one or two of the latter, but only a handful are good at all three.
