COLLINS deserves ACCPOY

This makes my blood boil. A UNC homer covering the Deacs - no way he is objective - UNC all the way baby. Some of the weakest crap ever by the Urinal.

The Louisville beat writer changed from Jackson to COLLINS after seeing JC in person on Wednesday night. And we can't get a vote from our beat writer. Will be glad to get Dan back.

Meh. I mean the kid's reasoning is just flawed IMO. It should go to the best player, not the best player on the best team. Or a player from the team that wins the most. For him to not even have Colson in his top-3 for POY just shows that he either didn't watch him play, doesn't review all the stats/advanced metrics, or is a blind homer.

There are stronger arguments for Colson, Kennard and Collins. Mitchell should be ahead of Jackson, too.

People get way too caught up in W/L when it comes to individual awards.

Also prisoners of the moment. He admitted he turned in his vote at 11:00 on Saturday night. He was probably jerking off yelling "the ceiling is the roof!" nonstop while submitting his vote.

So JC doesn't win ACCPOY?!
BC doesn't even make 3rd team?!
Danny gets 5th in voting for COY?!

hhaahahah!!! The media can go screw themselves. What a fucking joke.

Such horseshit.

I really hope this motivates the guys even more than humanly possible. GO DEACS!

Figured Jackson's crappy game at UVa - 7 points - would take him out of the running, while Collins was hanging 25 and 7 on the best defense in the league. But, UNC journalism school rules all in the acc.

Jackson wasn't very good last night against Duke either.

Screw Pastner. Did they win a single acc road game? Congrats on a couple of home upsets but what about losing @ PSU or home bs Ohio.?

Actually won the award over a month ago. Picked to probably not win an ACC game and even told by his own AD he probably wouldn't even win a game in the conference. Yet he wins 8 games. So yes, this was a pretty easy choice in a tough year. Hamilton had an outstanding year finishing 2nd, Manning had a great year winning 9 games and Buzz won 10 games. So there were many to choose from but there was nobody else who was going to win this but Pastner.

Yea...its obvious that a guy who lost players and kept the same record/finish should be voted COY ahead of a guy who lost his best players and more than quadrupled his record to finish .500 (from 6 games behind Pastner to 1 game better than Pastner) in the toughest league in the land.

Real genius at work there.

The real genius is the GT AD letting it out that he told Pastner he didn't think he would win a single ACC game. Brilliant piece of media manipulation to lower expectations.

TITCR. duke and unc should try that.

Question about those who say that losing Collins to the NBA this year will be an overall positive in light of how it would benefit recruiting: what is that based on? I agree that it seems to make sense, but when I look back at our recent early departures (CP3, Johnson, Teague, Aminu), we have always slid to the depths of the ACC after they leave. Why would this be different?

Based on Manning's reputation for developing bigs.

We recruit Top 75 bigs and keep it going. Sarr is an early test.

People are optimistic about next year because Moore and SJM could make a leap and we have a Top 40 wing coming in.

Just because we haven't capitalized on it doesn't mean that players going to the NBA isn't good for the program. Do we get Teague/Johnson/Aminu without CP? Who knows?

Yeah, Jackson barely deserved 1st team - easily the 5th choice. If you're not going to give it to Collins, at least give it to Kennard or Colson.

Kegan Lowe of the Journal voted for Jackson. We can't even get home cooking from the hometown paper when our guy deserves to win. Who was the other paper designated by WF to vote?

Yeah, my point is that given Lowe viewed it as a tie, he'd give the local guy the nod.

This.
I thought Kennard followed by Collins.
Coach should be at least 3rd.
K had the worst year I can remember
