Bracketology 2017

It could be due to how many games it would for us in such a short period of time.

No shit.

Jay Williams with a scorching #hottake that conference tournaments are a pointless money grab and should be eliminated.

He just said that Duke played in the conference tourney only to help get a #1 seed - that they didn't care if they won it or not.

I feel like his thing is to have a pretty bad idea then back it up with the worst reasoning possible. He actually gets other analysts angry with his nonsense.

Well, to the Dukes, Kentuckys, UNCs of the world, conference championships don't mean a whole lot.

Some people say that, but don't agree. Did you watch the UVA/UNC ACC final last year? Blood bath. Max effort game. Same with the Duke v. UVA game in 2014. Competitors want to win everything they play in. The ACC is always loaded, and even so, Duke has won 15 ACC titles under K. That doesn't happen without full-out effort.

They are only meaningless when said team doesn't win it. Pretty convenient how that works out.

Here are the resumes of various ACC bubble teams if they were to lose tomorrow:

Wake: 19-13, RPI: 38, SOS: 17, T25: 1-7, T50: 3-9, T100: 8-13, Best Win: #3 Louisville, Worst Loss: #77 Syracuse, Road/Neutral: 7-10

VT: 21-10, RPI: 49, SOS: 66, T25: 2-5, T50: 4-8, T100: 12-9, Best Win: #13 Duke, Worst Loss: @ #117 N.C. State, Road/Neutral: 6-8

Cuse: 18-14, RPI: 85, SOS: 54, T25: 3-4, T50: 6-8, T100: 9-11, Best Win: #10 FSU, Worst Loss: @#211 BC, Road/Neutral: 2-11

GT: 17-15, RPI: 93, SOS: 56, T25: 4-5, T50: 4-9, T100: 9-15, Best Win: #4 UNC, Worst Loss: #121 Ohio, Road/Neutral: 2-11

Two of those teams look like they can't afford a loss tomorrow.

how much did our RPI and SOS drop after today's win? I'm guessing minimal right?

Hey bros, the first round of the ACC tourney is over and Wake has at least two games left. Not bad.

Syracuse isn't in CBS's bracket or bubble. Don't they have an RPI in the 80's? Would be the highest RPI team ever to get in by a longshot.

•The lowest rated teams to get at-large bids (ALB): #67 USC, #64 Marquette (2011), #63 NC State (2005), #63 Stanford (2007).

Aren't you a bit concerned if Syracuse is the cutoff line that no one below them in the ACC standings will make it either?

Syracuse got in at 71 last year I think. But yeah if they lose tomorrow their RPI will be in the mid 80's.

Aren't you a bit concerned about me putting my boot up your ass?
