Saudi World Golf Tour 2022/2023 Thread

LOL. OK, Bill Haas. Sorry for the typo....but the point remains. Any opinions on the intended content of the post?

It seems to me that all active golfers connected to WF should make every possible effort to be there for this event and had plenty of time to arrange their schedule accordingly.

Why did you openly lie about Jay Haas?

I think any Wake golf alum on the PGA Tour should be playing in the event this year. Not sure who is planning to play but I would hope reifers, webb, and bill would all play.

Simpson and Reifers are in the field. I seem to recall that Bill rarely if ever plays at Bay Hill. I don't know if there is a reason for that or not. Far be it from me to tell PGA pros where and when they should play but you would think the Wake players on tour would want to play in Arnie's tournament as a general matter. Who knows what may have transpired behind the scenes, though.

Reifers having a rough year so far. Made the cut, at least, last week, but faded over the weekend. Here's hoping he has a good outing this week. Simpson has been playing well recently (top 40 finishes in seven of his last nine, including a playoff loss at the Sony tournament).

On another note, does anyone have anything good or bad to say about the spectator experience at Harbour Town the week after the Masters? I understand that some of the top players won't be there given the timing of the event but the course looks pretty cool on TV. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Been multiple times (though not in the last 8-10 years)....most laid back week on tour. Course is an easy walk, the design allows multiple people to contend there (not just bombers). After party at the bars/restaurants over by the lighthouse is awesome after each round. If you've never been before, definitely one worth taking in. I've stayed both on the island and just walked to the course, and used the shuttle busses one year as well (which were run pretty well).

The course may be a little different this year. Hilton Head got hammered by the hurricane.

I was at Harbour Town on Saturday. They are already putting up the grandstands for the Heritage. There are a few trees that they are trying to save with cables, but the fairway on #1 looked every bit as narrow as it was when I played there back in September.

As far as the spectator experience, I haven't been to the tournament, but I understand it is very laid back and lots of fun.

I went last year on Saturday. It was an awesome event. 18 was a mad house, too many people and you couldn't see much but I enjoyed the rest of the course.

Not a lot of hills/mounds to gain a good vantage point on many of the holes out there. Plenty of shade to walk in though.

Arnold's Tournament.

Looks like Weebus will be back home in CLT to keep up his streak of perfect attendance for Sunday School and Church on Sundays.

Isn't he about due to crank out another kid?

Good last day with 4-5 guys jockeying for the lead. Rory had a nice weekend charge. Nice to see Leishman get a win to get into Augusta - it's a better field with him in there.

Kisner is going to break through and turn all these seconds place finishes into wins. He's on the cusp of being a stud. Or maybe he's just not a closer.. I hope he's on the brink of being a stud. I really like the guy.

Rory, DJ, Spiethy all comin' in hot. Gonna be tough to figure out these DK lineups.

Until Spieth finishes outside the top 2 at Augusta I'm going to keep picking him.

Bubba coming in waaaaay under the radar for Augusta is interesting.

I honestly think Bubba may be done. He just looks so awful on the greens that I don't think he can/will be able to get it back together. Not like he's every been known as someone who will outwork everyone when he is struggling. His stats this year (admittedly small sample size) are bottom of the barrell in everything but off the tee. The ball change has been a nightmare and all for only $1 million? No thanks.

I saw a video of him and his boys playing a round in Aiken (I think that's where he's from) on his home course. Good laughs if you have not seen it. Drinking beer, cart racing, cutting on each other. He seems like a pretty down to earth guy for a PGA Tour player.
