BBall Recruiting Thread 2k18 - Hoard, Mucius, Lewis, and Wright sign NLIs!

I think we will use Sam and Doral as paint defenders. It would have been tough to play them there this year as it would have greatly impaired JC's offense. If we had played him at PF and them at C. The person covering them could have easily helped out on JC which would have hindered JC's offense. It would have also clogged the middle more for our drive and dishes for open threes by having that extra player there.

In addition to Chaundee's excellent offense, I would not be shocked to see Dinos' 3 point shooting to go back to where it had been. This year in games where he took at least four threes, he shot 19-40. Even if you take away the 8-11 game, he shot 38% on threes. His soph year, he shot 38% when he got 4 threes/game on many more shots.

When the same numbers happen in back-to-back seasons, it's a good indication that he'd do it in a third season. We need to get him more games with 4+ threes next year.

Given that Craw has played over 30 mpg in each of his season and that Woods played 30 mpg, I think the number we will be looking at for those two and Brown will be in the 90-96 range.

I agree that Dinos is likely to play 30 mpg if he's up to it. I will not be shocked to see Sam/Doral play over 30 mpg between them. Where the other minutes will come from will be interesting to see. I wonder if we are looking at grad bigs.

Sam might get 25 of those minutes but Moore can last and/or stay in a game but for 5 of those minutes. He either has to get more stamina or learn not to swat down on everything to stay out of foul trouble. 2-3 times up & down the court is all Moore can take at one time.

I just wanted to point this out because of how funny I found it: 247 list 3 PG's on our roster. Those 3 PG's are FRESHMAN: Brandon Childress SOPHOMORE: Bryant Crawford, Codi Miller-Mcintyre.

Was looking at PG options on 247 and seems like Dotson is a heavy Kansas lean and I would guess UNC is behind them if they really want another PG.

Isn't that what they said about Chaundee?

And anyhow, we'd still have Codi.

If Dinos slides to center and he/Doran/sam combine for 50mpg, we should play 4 guards like the Kyle Lowry era jay wright Villanova teams and try to outscore teams the same as this year. We'd be less athletic, but looking back probably slightly better shooting than those teams. I'd guess our defense with such a lineup would still be 50-80 spots better than we were this year. We were horrendous last year because 1) we were small and let teams shoot over us; 2) we were also slow and guys could drive right by us at a minimum of 2 positions at any given time; 3) our one big couldn't/didn't contest much at the rim so it was a layup line; 4) we applied no pressure on the perimeter and were one of the worst at forcing turnovers.

At least contest at the rim, upgrade athleticism outside with chaundee replacing Arians, and sliding Dinos to a position he can cover, and we likely solve 2.5 of those problems though we still wouldn't be great on d. Adding Sarr Would give us more options, as would readiness by melo or Washington. But absent all of those, I'd rather get our best guys on the floor rather than trying to ram a square peg into a round home by playing traditional bigs that aren't ready 80 minutes.

Word from an element of the Vandy fan base yesterday is he is leaning our way. No idea the source of that sentiment, so take it for what it's worth.

100% it's recent twitter follows, anything else is a total lie

There was a premium post on Rivals from a Florida insider that said we're in good shape with Sarr.

Get both of them, have a starting line up of them two at the 3/4, brown at the 2, Crawford at the 1 if he's still here (if not chill/Dotson/wright), sarr/SJM at the 5 with Woods as sixth man? And the amount of depth we would have with Eggleston, Mitchell, Wash? I could get excited about that

Not to detract from the VIBES, but with all this transfer talk are there any new possible grad transfer prospects?
