ALL PRAISE JOHN CURRIE FOR ACTING A YEAR TOO LATE

I know many of you don't want to think about this but here goes. Firing Danny just after the NCAAT and other major events have been canceled could make us look bad. Danny isn't just a coach. He's a legend of the NCAAT. In fact, he's probably on the Mt. Rushmore of NCAAT players.

ESPN, Fox Sports and thousands of other outlets have no programming but have to fill hours and content on websites. Firing Danny now could turn him into a sympathetic figure. It will be an easy and oft repeated story. How could they fire Danny Manning at this time? Doesn't this guy deserve another chance? Didn't he do a miracle before?

If Danny was just another coach without all his history, it still wouldn't be a great idea. But he isn't just another coach. He has a story. This is a time where news and sports outlets are desperately looking for stories.

Fuck you

Arsene, get some professional help.

Make sure you wear a bracelet with your name and address.

We fire Manning. Public finally looks at his record and people will say."Jesus fucking Christ. Look how bad he is." The negative press people here are talking about will be why did Wake keep this guy so long. Then the contract will be exposed. So any delay is Wake covering its own ass. Not Danny Manning.

If the decision has been made, then fire him. Any delay can only lead to a leak of the decision to fire him, and that would look pretty bad for Wake. If you are gonna let somebody go, then do it; and stop messing around. Just when you think that Wake couldn't possibly screw up the hoops program any more, they find a way to do it. What a bunch of clowns are administering our alma matter.

I don’t understand why the timing of this is all of a sudden much different than it was a week ago. Manning was hired to do a job, he didn’t perform, he’s fired by Wake in a professional way, the media could give a shit about Wake anyway, we announce that Matta is our next coach and he’s coming on campus to get familiar with the school and current players once the virus scare subsides. The end.

Let me get this straight - there are casual sports fans who haven't cared enough about Wake basketball to know how bad we have been over the past 6 years. But we are prolonging a decision years in the making and desired by 99.99% of our actual alumni and fan base, because we don't want "bad optics" with those people who don't care about us to begin with? The only "bad optics" here are how stupid you people make our fanbase look with the inane reasoning that you come up with to justify the utter incompetence of our athletic department and its director.

Fuck you, John Currie.

With each passing day and especially since the college season is done I move closer to believing we are looking at Wellman 2.0.

The athletic department and moneybags who have been supporting Manning and need to buy him out literally have less money than they did a week ago. So they’re scared.

Based on what exactly? I can’t believe how many of you are chicken littles.

Based on that Manning is still the coach.

I mean, I understand that but if the $$$ hasn’t been raised and is currently sitting in a cash account somewhere for his inevitable firing we are in worse shape than I thought.

Based on that Manning is still the coach.

People who expect Manning to have been fired in the last 72 hours given everything going on globally and closer to home are totally uninformed about how life/business/the world actually work.

Multiple coaches have been fired in the last 24 hours in college basketball
