I'm cooler with it for football with the gate opening thing, I guess, but generally agree. I'm not hating on Skip for introducing these gimmicks, but they were gimmicks. Maybe it accelerated the atmosphere a bit, but probably not really. Then you start to suck and convince yourself that it's "tradition" and it's just silly and cartoonish. I don't know man. THAD THAD THAD THAD !!!!!

This is a little different since there’s no reason to believe Currie hadn’t been working behind the scenes contacting options over the last 45 days
 
If K is still around and we want to bring it back to blast exhaust up his rat nose, then I'm totally down for that.
 
The motorcycle is on record as annoying Coach K.
If it bothers Ratface, that's a hard check in it's favor.

Anything that helps local kids grow up thinking the Deacs are cool will be good for us. Our alumni base is so small and made up of generally shitty sports fans, so the bigger the Walmart base can be, the better.

All that said, nothing builds a bandwagon more than winning and winning often. Thad Matta is probably the best choice for that.

I don't think that shit's gonna resonate with kids these days, but I'm old now and VERY cool and hip, so was laughing at you dorks to begin with.
 
Not sure there's enough saliva. So something else to consider. I think Kelsey expectorates profusely, and that, you know, could be, like, a general public health hazard. Probably goes in the "cons" column.

If you are watching the ACCN right now and watched the player intro from that night I would argue that the tye dyes and motorcycle are a quadrillion times better than anything we have seen in the Joel in the past decade. If you missed it YouTube it. My son who is a current student shows it to his friends and none of them can believe our home court and students used to be that alive.
 
I can’t imagine Forbes being a great interviewer, but his energy on the sidelines is definitely there. His resume is what speaks for him. Would be hard for Currie justify Kelsey seriously being a better candidate than Forbes.

Also, have noticed Forbes has been awfully quiet on Twitter in the last 24 hours. He usually tweets quite a bit everyday.

My love for gimmicks is well documented, but that atmosphere had a lot more to do with winning than t-shirts. I’m fine with both if we can. A coach who can win, but also sell the program to locals and students. The former is more important.
