NIT 2024: Next in a Long Line of Basketball Disappointments

If this was baseball, it would be game over. I have always supported the Coach. To say I am severely disappointed is an under statement!!!

The lack of depth is really inexcusable and is entirely on the coaching staff. And it’s not like the guys sitting on the bench are nobodies. They were legit recruits. They just never get to play and don’t improve under Forbes.
Is Marion still on the team?

Only thing I've got is Parker did guard that guy on the next-to-last three at least. One of the few times we have guarded their three. The next one was a heat check from damn near half court. I just laughed when that one went in.

We fucking suck. Address it by next year or move on to the next coach. Going to get harder for Forbes to pull in guys when he never makes the NCAAT.

Forget this and put your energy to seeing Cam Young finally getting a PGA tour Dub at the Valspar.

Man, Forbes has his work cut out for him. It’s a cutthroat business, and I hope he makes the tough decisions in the offseason so we have a chance of winning with a good core group of guys returning. We have four players on scholarship that add next to nothing, and it’s time to get some immediate production out of the portal. Hate to say it, but it’s time to cut bait.

Forbes has coached many shitty games in his 4 years. Most of the time it is due to lack of focus, intensity, or sense of urgency…whatever you want to call it but the common denominator is Forbes. The 3 losses with the NCAA on the line was inexcusable.

I hope he only gets one more year to make the tournament and prove he belongs at this level. I do not believe he does. I think he has brought us as far as he can. Great guy but he has too many gaps to get it done at this level.

This game is worse than most of the others but the issues are the same: no defense, poor shot selection, too many turnovers. It just goes on and on.

wake may be shooting sub-30% for the game and 2-14 from three and getting outrebounded and allowing 10-17 from three but at least they only have two fouls and no one is in foul trouble

Yeah. Next year NCAA or he has to go. This game is a microcosm of all the issues this year.

Maybe Forbes will just send the walkons out for the 2nd half and go grab a beer at the local pub.

I don't think today is a coaching problem. Strictly personnel (which in turn can be blamed on coaching I guess). But Sallis covers up a lot of holes. I shudder to think of where we'd be if we didn't land him. When I saw Sallis was out, I knew it would be a shit show and so did anybody who watches this team.

How is it not a coaching problem when the problems we’re seeing today mirror the problems we see when our personnel is not compromised? No, Sallis makes it worse, but not the main cause.
