BBall Recruiting Thread 2k16- SJM, Washington, Childress & Mitchell sign NLIs; 2017?

Wake does have a pretty good record of staying on recruited players with devastating junior- and senior-year injuries -- McClinton and Skeen immediately come to mind. Someone with a better memory could probably recall half a dozen more.

Do the One-and-done factories back off a player with a late injury?

Yes, I wonder if some might back off Smith to a wait-and-see position.

Typically they might but Smith is probably good enough to keep all his offers and momentum

Given the way guys have come back from ACL's recently i'd be shocked if many schools drop off. NCSU is still full steam ahead.

Yeah, schools are gonna pull a top-5 recruit's scholly offer because he tore his ACL 15 months before he plays a meaningful game for them.

Just staaaaahp.

State and Wake have not backed off. Duke and Kentucky will likely take commits from other top point guards regardless of what happened to Dennis. UNC has not backed off but their sanction status will not be resolved before he commits making them a nonfactor.

State was and is the favorite so the biggest competition for him is going after him as hard as ever.

My take is we get all of them or none of them. So it's something fun to pay attention to but not worth melting down over when it ends with them going elsewhere.

John Mooney on campus this weekend.

Strengths:
Mooney is a long and skilled power forward the has tremendous upside. He does a good job running the floor and can score inside and out in the half court. In the post he has a smooth and efficient jump hook over his left shoulder and on the perimeter he can stretch the defense to thw arc with time and space. Mooney is a pick and pop or roll threat that brings excellent versatility to the power forward position scoring wise. He also is a good rebounder and an excellent passer with touch and feel from different areas of the floor. Mooney has a nice feel for the game and he displays asset in the way he makes plays in a variety of ways.

Weaknesses:
Mooney will need to continue to build strength and continue to work on improving his athleticism although he is better than advertised. He will also need to continue to work on his ball handling when being pressured and working to improve his ability to make scoring moves off the dribble like creating his own offense.

Bottom Line:
Mooney is a skilled and versatile power forward that can score in side and out and make teammates better with his ability to pass. He is a stretch forward that creates match ups problems. Mooney is oozing with potential and has all the tools to be a high major immediate contributor from day one.

Bottom Line what?
