Coworker just asked me, my top-of-the-head response was Mellow Mushroom, because it's a faceful. But I had a hard time thinking of other places. Help me out here.

Small Batch/Burger Batch has a very good cheesesteak, though it isn't necessarily a traditional one. Hero House might be my next pick, though it has been a while since I had one there.

The Telera cheesesteak at hick tavern is really good.

Hero House has been out of my head since the LJVM one closed. I need to hit that up more often, good call.

I always liked Hero House but it's be a few years since I've eaten there. Elizabeth's was good too, but again, it's been a while. I also liked Rose's Deli but they closed down a while back.

Burke St Pizza does a nice job

The best one in town is the Cheese Steak Special at Coppola's. Hands down.

Honorable mentions: Zito's, Mario's, Burke Street, Elizabeth's

Basically any Italian restaurant in town

Get the hell out of here with your MM and HickTav chain recommendations

Rose's steak and cheese was so good.

Now, it's probably TJ's? Hero House is solid too.

If I'm going to Burke St or Elizabeth's, I'm getting some friggin' pizza.

I remember Rose's being decent. Hero House's cheesesteak was awful. I remember trying to order one there during freshman orientation. It was steakum on a hot dog roll with mayo. Disgusting.

There are no true cheesesteaks in WS. There are some pretty good sandwiches that are called cheesesteaks but they really aren't. My favorite cheesesteak is Carl's Corner in Bethlehem, PA.

There are no true cheesesteaks in WS.

I agree with this, but we have to make do at times.

I've decided I need to research this further. Will give regular reports.

What keeps a W-S cheesesteak from being true?

Never had one in Philly, but I'm going to Atlantic City in February?

If you're going to Philly, get a roasted pork with broccoli rabe sandwich.

Go to Tony Luke's on the boardwalk. It's definitely not the best Philly cheese steak, but it's close enough to get the idea.

Go to White House subs in Atlantic City. Be sure to try both their cheesesteak and their Italian hoagie.

You won't be disappointed.
