BillBrasky Memorial Political Chat Thread

Republicans = capitalism? Chortle. Check again centerdeac, republicans = trumpism now and that stupid bastard will make things terrible for the business climate

Also if someone is satisfied with their economic situation what secondary issues does the gop offer Black folks (or anyone else)? Suppression of minorities and women? A state supported religion based on twisted “Christian” beliefs? Destroying public education? Sounds like a winning platform there.

2a propaganda - gun rights protection is a pretty big one. Anecdotal, but ive heard from a number of Black people (that trend conservative or apolitical) that they prefer the Republican platform on guns. Obviously I don’t think those particular Black voters represent the larger national Black electorate on guns, but point remains.

Guns are one of several issues where Democrats need to articulate a specific stance or risk losing Black and Latino men on the margins.

Sorry, been missing. Trump sucks. I do want to reclaim my party. The Republican thing was half joking. It's more important to see a rise in African American education levels and real median income.

Down where I am, owning a gun (which I don't) isn't even a half and half thing. Church going is also strong.

Ph,

What do you think about a policy that increases the SS tax bracket 10 percent per year, but limits affirmative action to those who do not pass the threshold for a break in taxes?

What do you think affirmative action is?

Why do you think affirmative action would address poverty?

Affirmative action is steps to redress what can be wealth, socio-economic, gender or race disparities by giving preferential treatment to the disadvantaged group in the public or private sphere. If implemented in the former areas, it can be a means to address poverty by raising education and employment levels for these groups. If wealth is ignored, then the benefit falls to wealthier people and does not address poverty. Short version.

Your party: socialism!

Residents of North Carolina began noticing the mysterious billboards days before this month’s Super Tuesday primaries.

Across Winston-Salem, Charlotte, Greensboro, and beyond, digital posters displaying the smiling faces of former President Donald Trump and his old friend, the notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, greeted drivers as they traveled highways and busy intersections.

Soon after, the Trump-Epstein signs popped up in Georgia.
