I think the key going forward may be to find a young assistant coach and give him his shot. Loyalty seems to be the key. It's why Shaka is staying. It's why Archie may stay (State job aside). It's why a lot of mid-major coaches settle down. Loyalty.
I'd rather go for a young, untested assistant with upside rather than a retread at this point.

Here is a list of assistants under 40 from 2 years ago. Three are off the list already, one is in the Final Four. Another name is very familiar.
