No interest in recruiting one and done's because they don't go to class.

Enjoy everyone.

Anybody who says they are "very pleased" with the direction of the basketball program needs to have their head examined.

As Dan has said, Bzzz has nothing to lose. He still has a big-time job after 6 sub .500 seasons. His only choice is to remain positive and act like his grand plan is going to pay dividends.

It's good to be able to put a name to one of the true villains - those that don't hold Wellman, who doesn't hold Bz, accountable for their failures. Thanks Doyle Early.

What's the record for head coaches with consecutive losing records at major programs?

Bzz will go .500 and get an extension, and those nit-wits will think it's great.

Really disheartened to hear someone/anyone on the board of trustees say they are “very pleased with the direction the program is headed.”

He ironic thing about Bz is that we have had more early departures per year during his tenure than either of the three coaches he replaced. His players just leave because they can't stand him or bc they aren't good enough to play in the ACC.

So, in year four, Bz comes to the realization that he might need to 'add some activities or other things' to the kids schedules on road game days so that they're not just eating a nice meal and laying around and then going out and losing?

It's not Bz's first job either, so it took him a lot longer than Year Four.

Does anyone not get the hypocrisy that [Redacted] spends a good portion if the article blasting 1 and dones; and part of the article mentions we just signed a 1 and done (coron) that will have ZERO interest in going to class because he has already graduated. In reality coron isn't even a student athlete. He isn't going to complete his post grad program in a year or anything.

Basically we still like one and dones, we just prefer they transfer to us from low majors rather than be good enough to go to the NBA.

“I want to have a junior/senior team, veteran 5-star character guys who have worked their way to 4-plus star basketball players,” [Redacted] said.
“A strong committed group of guys that play with passion and teamwork and can overcome those one-and-done guys. Those one-and-done guys, they are hard to get, and they are not interested in going to class, and that’s not what Wake Forest stands for.

Sometime a little truth sneaks in among the BS.

Excellent point by Wrangor.

Maybe he should have said,"I'm and players good enough to play in the NBA."

An attitude like this guarantees Wake will NEVER be better than mediocre as long he's around. If EVERY piece of his puzzles fall into place, we MIGHT get to 7th out of 15.

No one should give another nickel to the program as long as he's here. He wants to play with one arm tied behind his back.

Attocious. Don't lecture anyone on how to win, Bz. You have no idea how to win.

He's been losing on the road for a long time.

Not sure why that close game stat is so great. We win every game we lost by 7 or less and we still don't make the NIT.

We keep seeing statements such as the one in bold above. How can Wake's leadership not see these types of statements as thinly veiled insults being hurled at former Wake players like Chris Paul? Since when is attributing such characteristics to whole groups of people acceptable behavior? How can Wake's leadership not see how wrong it is to characterize whole groups of people as thugs or jerks or poor students? This is wrong whether it stems from racism or classism or just plain stupidity. If this is Wake's new "culture", it is one we will be ashamed of for a long time to come.

To hell with all this. I'll support the student athletes but I won't be attending any games. Just remember if you attend you're giving Wellman ammunition to keep him. Proceed as you see fit. This is like some bizarro world bad dream.
