Sadly, looks like we would have been much better off in one of the Louisiana regionals. At least the Deacs went down to 3 storied programs, but ISU and Ole Miss was unexpected.
I have complete confidence we would have screwed up that regional also.

Maybe they took out a few trees before the final round.
Just off the top of my head, Oklahoma State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Arizona State, Texas, USC, LSU.
Not a lot of private schools on there. Do they have better depth than we do?
Then why do we suck in the postseason? Is haas just not good at pep talks? Does he screw up swings over the course of the year? It seems like college golf wouldn't involve much more than recruiting.
Players to whom I have spoken all really like Haas and appreciate his connections in the golf world. Most have their own established swing coaches (sometimes their Dad) and will send videos if they need instruction. A large part of the coach's job is to determine which players participate in any given tournament - this involves a qualification process (qualifying rounds at OTC/FCC/etc and past tournament results) plus discretionary coach's picks.
It could be that golf is a high variance sport and we have wound up on the short end of the stick a lot of years.
I mean we could fire Haas, get a coach who doesn't recruit as well, but "gives good pep talks", which would likely put us in the same place. We would be a No. 40 seed each year and then either overachieve to make the NCAA Championships, or achieve at an expected level and not make the Championships.
Give me a talent full of roster year in and year out and I will take that every single time over a team that's less talented. We were ranked 10th in the country for a reason.
What does Haas even do for the team outside of planning, some strategy, and all the recruiting? All of these guys have their own swing coaches, so it's not like Haas is turning them into bad players, also clear since we had one of our best regular seasons ever.
People don't want to hear "oh it's just bad luck", but yeah, that happens, especially in golf, even over long periods of time.

What a great time to be a Wake fan .. the best female golfer in the country, the best male golfer in the country and three of the final 16 in the men's tennis draw.
Great baseball team just won a game in the acc tournament as well.
Can it get any better?
Well, yeah. I'm a little disappointed that I never hear anything about the men's wrestling team.
