NBA Off-season thread: Duncan and Garnett retire

I'm not going to check all the HOF inductees, but I'm guessing Kobe + Timmy D + KG will be as good a class as there's ever been.

Probably and Timmy is easily the best player.

KG was so weird.

Classic Gregg Popovich. I love it.

Spurs’ Coach Gregg Popovich and Patty Mills gave shoes to 200 students at Hirsch Elementary on Thursday. The shoes were donated by Shoes That Fit, a nonprofit organization that gives new athletic shoes to children in need.
“Just fun, great fun,” Popovich said. “Watching them smile and run around like crazy, put on their new shoes, and think it’s the coolest thing they ever did. Just fun to watch them all laugh and have a good time.”

.....

Popovich at one point was asked for his thoughts on the protests of the National Anthem inspired by San Francisco 49ers’ quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
“We are here giving out shoes to kids, and you ask that?” Popovich said. “Are you trying to be like Mike Wallace or something? You got yourself confused with David Brinkley. Does anybody else have a sensible question that fits the occasion?”

You've gotta love Pop.

The perfect antidote to KG's talking was versus Tim. KG was barking incessantly at Tim. All Tim did was smile, shh him and point at the scoreboard.

Someone needs to put together a list of great KG insults that clearly crossed the line. Like telling Charlie V he looked like a cancer patient

Telling Melo that Melo's wife tastes like honey nut cheerios

Saric has played a ton of pro ball. There's lots of tape on Simmons.

What's classic is Townie's laziness.

it's still true, they haven't played a game between them in the league

plus, they don't even/won't play the same position

Pat Riley says he thinks Bosh's career is over.

Mo Williams retiring. The Cavs backup PG right now is a 5-9 2nd round pick rookie.

Out of 26 players, only players still on their respective 2012 NBA Finals team are Russell Westbrook, Nick Collison, and Udonis Haslem.

Harden now starting PG for the Rockets. The trend is catching on. Ph ahead of the curve.
