NC Sports Betting

Damnit TCU. Went with the hardcore anti Mountain West betting approach. Had everyone losing except San Diego State (but with a UAB cover)... Bet all of them individually but also threw a little too much on a parlay... That TCU is about to kill by losing... Was so close...

Soooo close on this one (and BTW, there's a number on each bet that starts with DK and then is a string of numbers, I'm stupid, and I'm sure it's just a bet identifier, but just in case it links to my account in any way, I blocked it out)....woulda won me ~$1725 or so. BUUUUT (see next post)

Are round robins ever worth it? Seems like a good way to maximize a sure thing, but a bad way to hedge.

I'm an absolutely average 18-18 betting on every NCAAT game so far. With some of the profit boosts the books offer for the Tournament, I am up roughly .75 of a unit. Way to go team. What an effort. 8 more today!

We've got four futures bets still alive. Florida FF and my Nevada, BYU bets are all TOAST

UConn 13-1 to win title (currently +260)
Houston 22-1 to win title (currently +500)
Purdue 8.5-1 (boosted with a start of tourney bet to help hedge a little with the other two favs, now +650)
Gonzaga 22-1 (now 35-1)

I have had nothing but terrible luck with them. Even when you get good odds, one wrong guess and they basically collapse. Better off just sticking with a parlay IMO.

How do we think the Houston/Texas A&M game ends? Houston up 5 at half....if they win by 10 I hit a 6 game parlay for $840, right now they are offering a cash out for $350

Accidentally bet $255 instead of $25 on A&M +5 first half, +8.5 game, and o129. Draftkings wouldn’t void it (by the time they responded it was after tip off). While the first half push was unlucky (A&M 11-22 FT) I feel extremely fortunate. Also hedged about half on Houston -1.5 in OT.

I've done that before. If you can't void the bet, if the line hasn't moved, just bet the otherside up to the point that you wanted to bet. You lose a little a juice, but not a ton.

Also, in most instances, the cash out option is not as good as hedging by taking the other side (or other sides), particularly if you have the favorite. For example, if you have a chance to hit a parlay with one leg left out; rather than cash out, you can do better by taking the other side in the remaining parlay leg. If the team you have in the parlay is the favorite on the ML, take the dog with the points and try to hit the middle, that almost always result in a more favorable payout regardless of outcome than cashing out. Run the numbers for all of the betting options before cashing out, there is a reason the books offer a cash out, the percentages are in their favor.

Can't bet the other side of a parlay though - it was quite a rollercoaster of emotions. When A&M got up late in the first half, I was kicking myself for not hedging at Houston -3.5 once the lead swelled to 12+ in the 2nd (and the over was a lock). Then, after a great comeback, was convinced Houston was still going to win by 9+ in OT and land a devastating beat, so the -1.5 hedge was easy. Basically, instead of winning like $60 I won like $750. My kid is getting a nicer 1st birthday present than expected.

If there was one leg left (or even two legs left) while every other parlay bet has hit, you can bet the other side and hedge.

For example, if you have five leg parlay, and you already hit the first four for $600 payout, and you can hedge on the fifth leg, by bettring the otherside straight up.

Don't online sportsbooks flag this in the case of trying to turn over bonus funds for withdrawal?

Not sure how they treat bonus bet action, but I've never had an issue when middling a sports book (betting the opening line and then, taking the otherside after the movement). In college basketball (and sometimes college football) it can be pretty clear which way a line will move. For example, the UCONN side will get all of the action until they appear mortal.
