Official Russian Election Interference Thread

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut officials were notified by the federal government on Friday that the state’s online voter registration system was targeted during last year’s presidential campaign in hacking efforts by Russia.

Gabe Rosenberg, a spokesman from the Secretary of the State’s office, said the U.S. Department of Homeland Security informed the office that the online system was scanned by agents of the Russian government between July and September of 2016, but it was not breached.

“They did not exploit any vulnerabilities,” he told The Associated Press. “Our detection system turned it away.”

Connecticut was among more than 20 states that received similar notifications on Friday.

If this is Obama's watergate then what do you call Trump ignoring all evidence of Russian interference?

Chamberlain style appeasement? Benedict Arnold style treason? Jimmy Carter level incompetence?

Appeasement? Obama spent eight years backing up and making concessions all over the world. That's another one of the reasons why Trump was elected.

The nation was sick of Obama's shit and he damned near destroyed the Democratic Party during his presidency.

Every party cast out of power endures a period of soul-searching. But the Democrats' dilemma was unimaginable even a year ago, when Clinton seemed to be coasting toward the White House and demographic change fueled dreams of a permanent national majority. Now, eight months into the Trump presidency, the party looks to face its toughest odds since Ronald Reagan won 49 states in 1984. The Democrats are in their deepest congressional rut since the class of 1946 was elected, and hold the fewest governors' mansions--15--since 1922. Of the 98 partisan legislatures in the U.S., Republicans control 67. During Barack Obama's presidency, Democrats lost 970 seats in state legislatures, leaving the party's bench almost bare. The median age of their congressional leadership is 67, and many of the obvious early presidential front runners will be in their 70s by the 2020 election.

If Democrats don't refine their pitch to alienated white voters, Trump could win re-election with ease.

"The states that told The Associated Press they had been targeted included some key political battlegrounds, such as Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.

The AP contacted every state election office to determine which ones had been informed that their election systems had been targeted. The others confirming were Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas and Washington."

You seem to be confusing politics with reality. Again what is Trump planning to do about foreign interference in our electoral process? Obama is no longer in power...Hillary isn't running for anything. This is up to Trump and his supporters. What are you guys going to do? Ignore and call it fake news or actually try to address the problem?
