Official Spurs Game Thread

If you watched the Western Conference finals and the Eastern Conference finals, it seemed pretty obvious that the two series were being played on entirely different levels. The Eastern Conference finals just looked sloppy by comparison.

Eff LeBron and the Heat talking about adding Carmelo. What a joke.

And someone needs to point out that Duncan is now the all-time leader in playoff double-doubles and playoff minutes-played.

They pointed that out on the broadcast...right before Mark Jackson starting spewing off about how the series are longer now so it basically didn't count.

Good thing "Reverend" Jackson knows more about paying off strippers and running churches than winning in the playoffs.

They mentioned the playoff minutes at that point. Mark Jackson's rant was silly considering Kobe and Shaq were top 5 on that list behind Kareem.

What is it about being a pompous douche with the last name Jackson and wanting to put an asterisk next to Duncan's accomplishments?

This would have been a damn sweep if not for Cheap Shot Chalmers and his antics.

Game 2 last play of first half Cheap Shot blasts Tim Duncan in the back TWICE on that missed tip in --- refs were terrible that game.

Then the automatic ejection elbow...

If the Heat add Melo, the Spurs should trump that and add Lance Stephenson. Head case, but would make them better than the Heat (even with Melo). Grab another athletic (need athleticism) big body down low like Patrick Patterson, and the Spurs are unbeatable next year.

Melo would be subtraction by addition. And no way are the Spurs adding a nut job like Lance Stephenson to the team dynamic they currently have going on.

The Spurs need someone like Ibaka down low to offer some strong D and rebounding, or maybe a young point guard to train under Parker.

There aren't really many guys like Ibaka.

lol... all we need is a 6'10" athletic freak who is the best shotblocker in the league and is adding range to his jumpshot at an alarming rate

just lock that up then DYNASTY!

I'm curious to see what Livio does coming off injury in France and he develops more as a wing or PF. Could be a nice piece with or behind Kawhi in a few years.

I could definitely see the Spurs taking a foreign big or PG in the draft.

The Spurs are an old young team. Parker is 32. Only Duncan, Manu, and Bonner are older than Parker. Kawhi, Green, and Mills are all 26 or younger. Keep Splitter, resign Parker and insert a top PF FA and that's a pretty solid core.

But it's only a matter of time until OKC figures out how to break through.

It amazes me how much people don't realize how elite Ibaka's combination of skill and athleticism is.

Watch out for Davis Bertans to come to play for the Spurs. He's 22, 6'10 SF from Serbia. He's a three point bomber. He might be a perfect fit for the Spurs.

With OKC's current lineup, not even Phil "The Messiah" Jackson could win a best-of-seven title. Too much of OKC goes through Durant and Westbrook. But if you add Carmelo in there (and I have heard no one even suggest that), it doesn't matter who their coach is. Of course you'd need three balls on the court at the same time but they'd be hard to stop.
