Official Week 4 NFL Thread: Refs are DUMB and other obvious observations

If you were wondering how Victor Cruz was spending his rehab...

Straight up baller move.

It doesn't have much talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Ansah is a potential stud and they have an old Ngata, but DeAndre Levy isn't playing right now and their other starting DT was lost for the season against Seattle. They have Larry Wadford on the OL, and not a ton of other talent in the front 5.

Duuuuuuumb argument here. The Lions are greatly underperforming their talent right now. They're 0-4 with the 9th ranked run defense, 12th ranked overall D. Yes, they lost the inside 4, but Teryl Austin has done a great job rebuilding there. PFF grades out 7 defensive players with >+2 grades, more than 15 teams in the NFL.

The OL you have a point. Abdullah and Riddick are good RBs even without Bell in there, and PFF grades out Michael Burton as the #2 FB in the league. Clearly there's talent at WR, and Stafford, for all his flaws, is a top-half QB.

This is the 15th-17th best team (by personnel) in the NFL playing as the 32nd best team in the NFL.

Caldwell also is supposed to be an offensive guy but the Lions' O has been pretty unimpressive each of the last two years. It was way better under Schwartz, a defensive-mindset dude. And I think it's reasonable to argue they had less offensive talent then too (certainly everywhere besides the line, at least).

Oh, and something something timeouts
