Pit Cruising Thread

We'll be tendering in and out of Belize City. We're hitting up a Mayan Ruin and then a speedboat tour of the coast.

Nice, that will be awesome. There’s a ton of cool stuff to see down there. I didn’t get to explore as much as I’d like but my parents and aunt/uncle did a cool river tour and saw like howler monkeys and shit.

I told my wife about your cruise. I could see hitting one up this summer.

Can’t remember if already discussed…

But anyone especially happy with their luggage…we need some new checked bag sized stuff…recommendations?

I forgot to come back here after my two cruises in late May/early June

The MSC Seascape is a gorgeous ship and Yacht Club is 100% worth the extra money, IMO. Not only with what is included (so you don't have to pay extra on top of your cruise fare for drink packages, internet, etc.) but the service was awesome and the YC public spaces are gorgeous and HUGE for the relatively few people that can access them, so no battling for chairs at the pool and quick and easy to get a drink at the lounge bar with never having to have your card or wristband scanned. And getting all the extra surprise goodies in the room was great too.

Also did mega rockstar on the VV Scarlet Lady. Another gorgeous ship but this cruise just wasn't as enjoyable for us as the MSC one. Our room staff and staff at Richards Rooftop were wonderful but staff around the ship just didn't seem to be into the hospitality part of being in the service industry as I would have expected. Slow, weren't defferential when passing each other in tight corridors, sometimes brash. Just a weird vibe from their staff. Did absolutely love that they had a WPT sponsored poker room with 8 tables on the ship. And nobody younger than 18 on the ship was nice as well.

“two cruises in late May/early June”

Living the life.

10 year anniversary and we used the money we've at times tightly saved up and then also received from selling in Winston and buying out just over the Davidson county line to pay for it. So debt free too. Which somehow made it better?

Oh and if you do MSC -- in Yacht Club or not -- I would 100% recommend doing the Chef's Table in Butcher's Cut for the $99 pp if you can at all afford it. I know it feels steep but that was a $500 dollar dinner on dry land. Minimum. And it was incredible.

Gonna be honest, I low-key hate cruises, but my wife's grandparents bought the family cruises for Christmas as their last hurrah.

Royal Caribbean - Voyager of the Seas
7 night Greek Isles

How are the Euro cruises? I'm planning to eat/drink as much as possible on land since we'll be in Italy/Greece. Am I planning incorrectly?

We did a Med cruise (Spain, France, Italy) last fall on Royal and it was incredible. We had great meals on land in every port and the food on the ship was darn good too.

I'm glad someone had a much better experience than I did with them. I'm still fighting with them 18 months later over $1600+ they stole from me.

I leave for Paris Friday and depart from Basel to Amsterdam on a Viking Rhine River cruise one week from Thursday

That cruise is great. Good time of year for castle day too - should be able to really enjoy the weather in the deck during that sail.

Viking is fantastic - no kids, no nickel and diming anywhere, great food, immaculate ships. If you want a party or a casino though, it’s not your scene.
