The Bubble

Can't wait for the deacon club to try and invoice me for NIT tickets.

Wild guess is that WF hosts Charlotte in the NIT first round.

It's early, but Mississippi State is taking it to the Vols. FWIW, other than WF most of the other teams on the bubble won yesterday (pretty amazing how tOSU has played their way onto the bubble after firing Holtman), and the A-10 is now going to get two bids with Dayton losing (top 4 seeds lost yesterday). There are going to be some teams that will be left out that thought they were in. Could get really messy if NC State manages to win the ACCT and there is similar mayhem in other conferences.

Michigan State falls to Purdue to drop to 19-14 (11-11), but as mediocre as their record is, they played a rough OOC schedule and have OOC wins over Indiana State (fear that the Sycamores are cooked) and Baylor (by 24).

I thought it was interesting Forbes said he's been talking to Bubba about considering Reid's absence in our favor, just like FSU football got the "opposite" treatment when their QB got hurt - they got left out - we should be included argument.

Seems like a fail, but good for him for trying.

WOW!

It's late now and #1 seed tn getting woodshedded by #9 miss st!

Bad day for them, but at least their still in the NCAAT.

Wake had no chance to survive a bad day, and the way things are going would likely have needed to beat the holes for a bid.

USF putting the beat-down on ECU. Amir Abdur Rahim is a f-ing star.

Kennesaw State went form 1-28 to the NCAAT; now, he takes a USF program that has not had a pulse in a decade, and in one year they are 24-6 and possibly an NCAAT. Impressive.

Please don't let state win it.

Wake is slated as a 3 seed hosting App on the most credible NIT bracketology site. This is the region. Note that the NIT will be more difficult this year than it has been in years since it is relying more on metrics/removed the auto bids for regular season champs that didn't win their conference tourney:

1. Providence (Big East 2)
U. Yale
4. Virginia Tech
U. Richmond
3. Wake Forest (ACC 1)
U. Appalachian St.
2. Ohio St. (Big Ten 1)
U. Washington

How in the world was USF only a -6.5 point favorite for that game today? Did they have injury concerns? ECU is terrible. They have to know their only path to a bid is to win the entire tournament, so I would expect them to be locked in all weekend.

Has there been another mid-major within the last decade or so who went from under .500 and fired their coach to losing Q4 home games under the new coach to winning their conference? USF is a unique story. Props to 90s Deac Michael Kelly for hring Abdur-Rahim.
