The religious right's hypocrisy now on full display

Read that piece a little earlier. It’s worth a read.

Suggests Trump’s “evangelical” supporters are more of a cultural phenomenon than a religious or Christian one. Which makes sense.

Just a little taste of what's coming at the federal level with Christian Nationalism if Trump actually wins the election. Godly Republicans can never compromise with "leftist" Democrats on any issue, because they're not fellow American citizens who happen to have different beliefs, they're on the side of Satan and are thus evil and need to either "see the light" and convert to the Religious Right or be destroyed.

”it’s the opposite of God’s word”

Uh huh.

Idiot is the favored/preferred Republican perspective.

and this is right after Trump says he can assassinate any political opponent with immunity...God's way!

these people are the worst and it makes me angry that they use the bible as a weapon like this. How can they possibly think that Jesus wants reductions in social justice and reductions in care for the poor if they have ever opened the Bible? They are American Pharisees and will someday cry out "Lord, Lord" when Jesus tells them that He never knew them.

They believe Jesus wants THEM to execute social justice and decide which poor are worthy of help.

Bold word choice. Accidental or not (yes, I acknowledge your undepheated identified status) it's accurate.

The greatest trick the devil ever played was convincing republicans they were the political party of jesus. Their grifting ass leaders took them for all they're worth.

Unlimited access to fire arms.
No healthcare unless you can afford it.
No access to essential healthcare (abortion as only one example)
Ban books (not guns !)
Take away the right to vote
Cop boners
military boners
Legislate their religious beliefs into law

i'm pretty sure organized religion was invented specifically to legitimize someone's political/ruling authority so the republicans were just the latest in a long line of Devil grifts

For sure there’s probably always (inevitably?) some aspect of power play and dynamics when it comes to formalizing and organizing a system of understanding, relating to and engaging (individually/corporately) with “higher powers”.

This dude's church is in Monroe, NC - the "Bible Baptist Tabernacle." Straight outta Gilead.

The banning of religious eggs has apparently happened every Easter for the past 45 years including under, uhh, President 45
