WFU Fundraising Calls?

I'm curious if anyone else on the board has been getting a ton of fundraising calls all of the sudden.

I had gotten a letter in the mail maybe a month ago.

Then on Friday I received a personalized email from a WFU student requesting money. Hmm interesting timing.

Then all this weekend- calls from 336 numbers. I finally picked up today and it was a student requesting money. I told her that now that they got rid of the terrible basketball coach, I'd be happy to give a little. She said in response, I didn't know how passionately people feel about basketball here, I've been hearing that a lot.

I then told her that I was sorry her four years at Wake had been with such a bad program in place.

I find the timing of this push rather comical. Was curious if anyone else had had the same experience?

I gave a paltry $100 bucks, which will maybe pay for 1/4 of some student's credit. Wish I could give more, but eh, its something.
 
I have not received a call, but I would guess that they have kept a list of all people that said "I'm not giving until you fire Bz" and now they are bombing those people with requests.
 
no calls but did get an email saying a rep was "in the area" and wanted to talk about my experiences as a student.
 
Wake Forest fund not the Deacon Club. It is their annual fund drive.
 
Same time as always for the annual fund push. With a June 30 fiscal year end, this is prime time.
 
i get a call 3-4x/week...sometimes on weekends...and i hardly donate pennies in the grand scheme
 
I got an e-mail the day after Bz was canned. Obvious timing is obvious.

I'm continuing to withhold all my donations, pending the hire, although I do plan on renewing my DC membership regardless to support Clawson. The amount of the donation will depend on the basketball hire.
 
It baffles me people hang out on a wake sports board and don't give money. I am not saying you need to cut a big check but every 20 dollars matters.
 
Yes, they are definitely pushing out the emails and calls. And a lot of those calls are on Saturdays or Sundays.

Can someone post Hatch & Wellman's email addresses? I realize it most likely won't get read but I do want to send something.

I can think of about 2000 places that need money more than Wake Forest University. I don't think I've ever gotten an email or a call in 10 years.

This is a bit of a disingenuous statement unless you care as much about UNICEF or the ASPCA or whatever the 2000 other places are as much as you do about wake sports.

Wake is about 10th on my list in terms of money donated and certainly I spend zero time directly helping but the pride in giving ZERO for people hanging out on a message board I find odd.

I totally agree with those that refused to give during the bzd era but aside from that I don't get it.
 
It's for the "Wake Will" campaign. They have a goal for the end of the FY.
 
Haven't gotten anything in forever.. But got an e mail right after buzz firing.. Will donate.. Amount depends on the hire..

Agreed. I still gave during the Bzzz era, just less.
